Ultra-low-cost oscilloscope series announced, starting at 610,000 won
Primarily targeting students with expert-grade features and software analysis

Keysight, which has the motto "We provide all solutions in instrumentation," said that it took a long time to put together this "last puzzle."

This is the assessment made on the 8th when the company announced the "small but powerful" ultra-low-cost oscilloscope series. At least from Keysight's perspective, it was an event that marked the culmination of over a decade of effort to capture the oscilloscope market, to the point where they could say, "We have accomplished the difficult task."

Keysight’s newly announced low-cost oscilloscope, the InfiniVision 1000 X-Series, is a 50-100 MHz model starting at 610,000 won. Compared to oscilloscopes that cost at least several million won, it is literally "ultra-low price." The company stated that despite its ultra-low cost, this product provides professional-level functionality by integrating industry-leading software analysis and the capabilities of six measuring instruments into a single unit.

First of all, as this is a budget-friendly oscilloscope, it is targeted at students or beginners using an oscilloscope for the first time. This means that the method of using the oscilloscope and setting up measurements has been made very simple. It features an industry-standard front panel for ease of use, and its various built-in functions allow even beginners to quickly analyze signals and derive results. Notably, unlike most scopes in its class, an educator resource kit is included as standard. The kit contains built-in training signals, an oscilloscope lab guide specifically configured for undergraduates, and educational materials on the basics of oscilloscopes for professors and teaching assistants.

Provides a waveform update rate of 50,000 times per second

The most significant feature of this budget oscilloscope is that it offers a waveform update rate of up to 50,000 times per second. This is made possible by Keysight's patented MegaZoom IV ASIC technology. "This more advanced ASIC technology makes it easier to see random and intermittent glitches and abnormal signals that oscilloscopes might otherwise miss," said Atsuki Okazaki, Marketing Brand Manager at Keysight Communication Solutions Group. Additionally, the InfiniVision 1000 X-Series features high sampling rates of up to 2 GSA/s and comes with two probes as standard.

The 1000 X-series features not only an oscilloscope but also a serial protocol analyzer, digital voltmeter, and frequency counter, and some models (EDUX1002G and DSOX1120G) include a frequency response analyzer and a WaveGen function generator. In addition, the Gated FFT function enables further signal analysis, allowing users to identify correlations between measurement results in the time and frequency domains on a single screen.



Manager Atsuki Okazaki stated, “Frequency response analyzer functions are necessary when developing filters or DC/DC converters, which are features found in network analyzers, and FFT functions are also found in spectrum analyzers. In this way, a single low-cost oscilloscope delivers the performance of different instruments,” adding, “In particular, this oscilloscope belongs to Keysight’s InfiniVision family of products and offers various features, such as segment memory functions that maximize the memory depth provided by these platforms.”

In addition, the InfiniVision 1000 X-Series provides mask limit testing to easily detect signal errors and supports decoding and analysis of a wide range of embedded and automotive serial bus applications, including I2C, SPI, UART/RS232, CAN, and LIN.

Manager Okazaki emphasized the significance of the product launch, stating that with Keysight's InfiniVision 1000 X-Series, low-cost scopes that were previously chosen out of necessity due to budget constraints must now be discarded. “Choose a real scope that gives you confidence in the measurement results with such a low-priced scope,” he said, expressing confidence.

Yoon Deok-kwon, General Manager of Keysight Korea, who delivered opening remarks and a company overview, stated, “Keysight initially targeted the high-end oscilloscope market and now takes pride in being the number one player in the oscilloscope market.” He continued, “However, this is not the case when considering total unit volume. With this product as a starting point, we will expand into the low-end market, which currently accounts for an overwhelming number of units, to increase our overall market share. Furthermore, we will aggressively expand into new technology sectors such as 5G, automotive, and aviation.”
