'GiGA Genie' Introduced at Lotte Castle in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, Scheduled for Occupancy in the Second Half of the Year

KT announced that it plans to install an apartment complex equipped with a voice recognition artificial intelligence system at the 'Lotte Castle' complex in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, scheduled for occupancy in the second half of this year.

A solution will be introduced at the Lotte Castle complex that allows for voice control of in-unit home network systems and KT’s home IoT services through KT’s AI TV service, ‘GiGA Genie.’ It is scheduled to be installed in each unit during the move-in period, and home network services such as in-unit heating control, elevator calling, and vehicle entry notifications will be provided via GiGA Genie.


If you say “Genie, call the elevator” before going out, it will call the elevator in advance and notify you by voice when it arrives. This allows residents to use home IoT services more conveniently than the existing method of controlling IoT devices with a smartphone app.

KT has signed a service supply contract with the developer, KT Estate, and plans to expand the provision of its voice recognition AI system to apartment complexes supplied by KT Estate, starting with the Lotte Castle APT in Yeongdo, Busan, followed by Suseong in Daegu and Ssangam in Gwangju. On the 24th, KT signed an MOU with Daelim Industrial for "AI Apartment Business Cooperation" and plans to integrate GiGA Genie into the Acro Seoul Forest mixed-use apartment complex, scheduled for sale in May, with plans to expand its application to e-Pyeonhansesang apartments in the future. Additionally, KT plans to introduce its voice recognition system to the Gwanggyo Convention Kkum-e-Green officetel in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, scheduled for sale in April, in partnership with Hanwha Construction.

Kim Jun-geun, Head of KT’s GiGA IoT Business Unit, stated, “We plan to actively collaborate with various industrial sectors, focusing on construction companies, to provide customers with more convenient, safe, and differentiated smart home services centered around GiGA Genie, which integrates KT’s AI technology and big data capabilities.”
