Implement cloud infrastructure with HyperFlex, UCS , and Nexus

Cisco Korea announced that Hanyang University has adopted Cisco UCS server-based HyperFlex at the 'Hanyang Cloud Center'.

The Hanyang Cloud Center was designed to implement Software Defined Networking (SDN) in response to the rapidly changing environment. Cisco's x86 servers, network, and security solutions were applied; core and domain-specific backbone networks were enhanced using Cisco Nexus 7000 and 9000, and server virtualization was implemented using Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, etc. Cisco HyperFlex, a hyperconverged solution, was adopted.

Hanyang University completed the first phase of the Hanyang Cloud Center project in early April as part of the 'New Hanyang 2020' project, which is being pursued in stages to build future-oriented infrastructure. Starting with this, all IT resources within the Hanyang Foundation will be concentrated at the Hanyang Cloud Center to optimize system operations and reduce costs. Hanyang University plans to continue exploring ways to advance the IT sector together with Cisco to complete a stable and future-oriented smart campus.

Kim Wang-ki, Deputy Director of the Information and Communication Office at Hanyang University, said, “Through the first phase of the Hanyang Cloud Center project, we aimed to improve infrastructure costs, system operational efficiency, and stability.” He added, “By building the best IT infrastructure with Cisco solutions equipped with top-tier technology, we have laid the foundation to integrate all IT resources within the foundation and provide the best services.”


Cisco HyperFlex is a hyperconverged infrastructure that provides end-to-end hyperconverged solutions. It simplifies policy-based automation, computing, and storage on the network for a wide range of enterprise application services. It also extends Cisco's SDN portfolio to include HyperFlex for networking and storage through Cisco ACI and Software Defined Network (SDN) solutions.
