KT Opens Enterprise Cloud Zone 'Seoul-M2 Zone'

KT announced on the 17th that it has newly established the 'Seoul-M2 Zone,' an enterprise-dedicated cloud zone, at the Mokdong Cloud Data Center (CDC).

KT has so far provided cloud services through a total of six multi-zones across four regions, including the Cheonan-Gimhae CDC, Seoul Mokdong CDC Center 1, and the LA CDC in the United States. With the additional establishment of the 'Seoul-M2 Zone' at Mokdong CDC Center 2, the company now operates seven enterprise-dedicated multi-zones based on a total of five CDCs.

The 'Seoul-M2 Zone' was established in response to corporate customers demanding higher-performance IT infrastructure to keep pace with the rapidly changing IT industry. The zone was built within the Seoul metropolitan area, where the headquarters of numerous companies are concentrated. By incorporating the latest CPUs and standard SSD storage, and significantly expanding the lineups of computing, storage, and security services, the zone has also strengthened connectivity between products. As a result, it is now possible to support customized cloud systems for various industries, including finance, healthcare, education, media, and manufacturing.

KT will apply DCI (Data Center Interconnect) technology centered on Mokdong CDC Center 1, Center 2, and Yeouido IDC within the first half of this year. DCI is a network service that interconnects physically separated data centers, enabling computing systems to operate as a single network. With the application of this technology, corporate customers can easily and cost-effectively link IT infrastructures distributed across various locations, such as IDCs and the cloud, thereby enabling efficient infrastructure operation. In the second half of the year, the service is scheduled to expand nationwide through the configuration of a wide-area network.

Meanwhile, KT is also significantly lowering the usage prices for cloud servers (VMs) in the 'Seoul-M2 Zone' starting today. As a result, any customer using the 'Seoul-M2 Zone' can use cloud infrastructure with guaranteed quality and performance at a cost reduced by up to 18% compared to global providers.
