Garmin Launches Flagship Smartwatch 'Fenix 5' Series
Create a stylish look by adding various easy-to-replace QuickFit™ bands.

Garmin announced that it will launch three models of the 'Fenix 5' series and strengthen its efforts to penetrate the domestic smartwatch market.

Garmin’s new Fenix 5 series is the successor to the Fenix 3, which was a sensation in the premium smartwatch market. It is released in three versions: Fenix 5, Fenix 5S, and Fenix 5X, allowing users to choose the optimal product based on their body type and primary use.

Along with a variety of sizes, features have also been upgraded. Battery performance has been improved for all three models, and Garmin Elevate™ technology, which measures wrist heart rate, has become more sophisticated. Featuring the new QuickFit™ band, users can easily swap bands according to their preference and situation, ranging from leather and metal bands to sports silicone bands.



The multi-sports support function, which allows measuring and recording the performance of various sports activities and training results, has also been upgraded. The built-in navigation function is equipped with GPS and GLONASS functions, as well as a 3-axis compass, gyroscope, and altimeter, enabling much more accurate measurements than when using GPS alone.

The standard model, the Fenix 5, has a bezel size of 47mm. Although it is smaller than the previous Fenix 3 HR, its functions and performance have been further upgraded, and its design has been made more sophisticated to enhance its usability in everyday life.

The stylish Fenix 5S features a smaller 42mm screen and lighter weight, providing a comfortable fit. In particular, for style-conscious users, it features a silver watch face with a mineral glass lens and can be matched with white, turquoise, and black silicone bands to create a distinctive look.

Designed for adventurous outdoor enthusiasts, the Fenix 5X features the largest 51mm screen with full-color maps, enabling users to navigate and track their location. With route tracking options, users can input the distance they wish to travel into the watch, and it offers various functions such as suggesting suitable courses.

When connected to a compatible smart device, users can conveniently check incoming calls, text messages, emails, and smart alarms immediately. It is compatible with Connect IQ, allowing users to customize their desired apps, widgets, data, and wallpapers to express their individuality.


The Fenix 5 Series allows you to create your own style with QuickFit™ bands that can be easily replaced with a single click without special tools or screws. It features not only luxurious leather and metal bands but also silicone bands in various colors that are comfortable to use during exercise, making it easy to freely select and replace them to suit the situation.

All three versions boast a 10ATM (100-meter) water resistance rating, and the stainless steel screen, buttons, and back case are robustly constructed to withstand high pressure. Additionally, equipped with more powerful battery performance, the Fenix 5 offers up to 21 hours of use in GPS mode and up to two weeks in smartwatch mode. The Fenix 5S lasts up to 12 hours in GPS mode and up to nine days in smartwatch mode, while the Fenix 5X also offers 20 hours in GPS mode and 12 days in smartwatch mode. When set to UltraTrac™ power saving mode, even longer usage is possible, eliminating the inconvenience of frequent charging.
