From temperature and humidity to fine dust within the complex for residents
Check real-time status with the apartment-exclusive app KT announced that it has applied a 'smart air quality management solution' to 'Okjeong Central Park Prugio' in collaboration with Daewoo E&C, which measures, analyzes, and diagnoses the indoor and outdoor air environment of apartments.

The 'Smart Air Quality Management Solution' is a solution that allows users to check air quality information collected 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from IoT terminals located throughout the apartment complex, both inside and outside, in real time through a smartphone app and the web.

Residents can check the application in real-time and quickly know the level of outside air quality when opening windows within the apartment complex. Push notifications are provided if the condition deteriorates below an optimal level or deviates from user-set standards.

It provides real-time information on ultrafine dust (PM2.5), fine dust (PM10), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), temperature, humidity, noise, and weather based on the user's location, such as outdoor activities, ventilation availability, and indoor laundry drying.

Currently, it is at the level of real-time air monitoring in actual living spaces such as playgrounds, daycare centers, and community centers. In the future, along with continuous management of measurement information, we plan to provide an IoT integrated control function that improves air quality by ventilating when the air quality outside is good and automatically operating air conditioners or air purifiers installed in the home when the air quality inside is bad.

Kim Jun-geun, Head of KT's GiGA IoT Business Unit, stated, "We expect this to be useful for households in complexes with young children or elderly family members who are sensitive to air pollution levels," adding, "We will continue to do our best to develop services that utilize IoT to protect customers' health and provide various benefits."
