Microchip Technology has launched a new family of maXTouch® touchscreen controllers.

The MXT1665T-A product family is an automotive-certified touchscreen controller designed for large-screen vehicle human-machine interface (HMI) design, providing drivers and passengers with a multi-touch HMI user experience, typically found in mobile phones, on screens ranging from 8 to 15 inches.

The MXT1665T-A product family features not only self-capacitive touch but also mutual capacitive touch scanning technology. The combination of the two touch methods enables multi-touch even when a thick cover lens is installed or thick gloves are worn.

This product family can support large screens of 10 inches or more while also sharing features for the automotive industry. The MXT1665T-A product family supports screen sizes from 8 to 15 inches while providing more detailed multi-touch capabilities.
