It is a product that displays paintings or photos as actual works of art even when the TV screen is off through 'Art Mode', and won the Best Innovation Award at CES 2017, the world's largest consumer electronics show held in the U.S. earlier this year.

At the Venice Biennale Korean Pavilion exhibition 'Counterbalance' (curated by Artistic Director Lee Dae-hyung), Samsung Electronics collaborates with contemporary artist Lee Wan to present the video artwork 'Made in' through The Frame.

The 'Made in' series shows how the unique history and culture of each country undergo value changes amidst uniform globalism, through the process of artist Lee Wan creating specific products that symbolize the modernization and culture of 10 Asian countries, including China, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

Artist Lee Wan explained his reason for using The Frame in this exhibition, stating, “Samsung The Frame is the only screen and TV that can convey the artist’s intentions intact with its clean, uncluttered design.”
Han Seung-hee, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, stated, “We are now in an era where how a product provides value tailored to consumers’ lifestyles is more important than its functionality,” adding, “Through The Frame, we have evolved the TV into an interior object that beautifies consumers’ spaces, and I am delighted to participate in the Venice Biennale to widely promote this value.”

Samsung Electronics plans to exhibit 'The Frame' at the Biennale Korea Pavilion from the 13th to November 26th.
