Samsung Electronics and Microsoft to Provide a Platform for Sharing Upgraded Tizen

Samsung Electronics will hold the 'Tizen Developer Conference 2017 (TDC)' in San Francisco, USA, starting on the 16th (local time), together with 30 partners including Microsoft and Glimpse (a location-based service provider).
TDC is an event that unveils new Tizen technologies and products and shares the vision with developers, partners, and others involved with the open-source platform Tizen.
At this TDC, the upgraded Tizen 4.0 platform and the accompanying evolved development environment were showcased. In addition, new products powered by Tizen were introduced, and opportunities for technical hands-on practice and experience were provided for developers.
Samsung Electronics unveiled Tizen 4.0, an open-source platform, at TDC. The 4.0 platform subdivides functional modules, allowing them to be reconfigured and applied to suit the specific characteristics of various devices. In addition to the existing Linux-based Tizen platform, a Tizen RT (Real Time)-based platform was added to enable its use across a wide range of devices, from high-end products like TVs and mobile phones to low-end devices such as boilers, scales, and light bulbs.
Meanwhile, through collaboration with Microsoft, developers can now easily develop Tizen apps using familiar development languages. Microsoft’s app execution environment, .NET, and Xamarin.Forms, a multi-platform UX compatible with other operating systems, have been introduced to Tizen, making it possible to develop Tizen apps in the C# language using Visual Studio, a popular app development tool among developers.
At this TDC, Samsung Electronics' Tizen smartphone, the 'Samsung Z4,' was also unveiled. The 'Samsung Z4' is the fourth Tizen smartphone released by Samsung Electronics since the company first introduced the Tizen smartphone Z1 to the market in January 2015, and the company plans to launch it sequentially in Africa, the Middle East, Indonesia, and other regions, starting with India on the 19th of this month.

At the exhibition, display products such as QLED TVs and the picture frame TV 'The Frame', as well as home appliances such as the IoT refrigerator 'Family Hub 2.0', were demonstrated connecting with Tizen products via IoT through smart home scenarios.

Samsung Electronics Ranks First in Premium UHD Monitors in the US for Four Consecutive Quarters

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
데이터브릭스가 3월 24일 개방형 에이전틱 SIEM ‘레이크워치’를 공개하며 보안 시장에 진입했다. 이 제품은 보안, IT, 비즈니스 데이터를 단일 환경에서 통합 분석해 AI 기반 위협 탐지와 조사를 지원하는 것이 핵심이다. 회사는 고비용 구조 때문에 일부 데이터를 포기해온 기존 보안관제의 한계를 줄이고, 개방형 형식과 생태계를 바탕으로 대규모 데이터 분석과 자동화를 가능하게 한다고 설명했다. 레이크워치는 현재 프라이빗 프리뷰로 제공되며, 어도비와 드롭박스 등이 초기 고객으로 언급됐다. 데이터브릭스는 앤트로픽과 협력을 확대하고 안티매터, SiftD.ai 인수도 함께 발표했다.
