Samsung SDS Signs Agreement with Korindo of Indonesia for Integrated Logistics
Published2017.06.20 07:10Samsung SDS announced that it has signed a strategic agreement with Indonesia's Korindo Group for global integrated logistics operations.
Korindo Group is a representative Korean investment company that has entered Indonesia and is a comprehensive development company with over 30 affiliates, including resource and paper businesses, as well as heavy industry, logistics, and chemicals.
Through this strategic agreement, Samsung SDS plans to complement its overseas local logistics execution capabilities and expand external sales, while Korindo Group plans to secure international transportation competitiveness by promoting logistics advancement based on Samsung SDS's logistics platform, Cello.
Both companies plan to establish a business cooperation model in the logistics sector and develop it into a joint venture in the future.
Park In-cheol, Vice Chairman of Korindo Group, stated, “Combining the strengths of both companies through this strategic collaboration will create significant synergy,” adding, “We plan to further expand business cooperation.”
Kim Hyung-tae, Head of the SL Business Division (Vice President) at Samsung SDS, also said, “This will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen local logistics execution capabilities overseas and secure external customers,” and “We plan to actively pursue external business for sustainable growth.”

Samsung SDS Partners with Startups
Samsung SDS held the "2017 Partner Solution Fair" at its Jamsil headquarters, bringing together approximately 500 people from around 60 companies, including partner companies both domestic and overseas, solution developers, and product planners from Samsung SDS. Over the past two years through last year, Samsung SDS has practiced substantive co-prosperity business between large and small-to-medium enterprises, executing a total of 52 contracts with 10 companies. The company is also investing in startups discovered through such events.

Samsung SDS announced that the customer experience (CX: Customer eXperience) design of its solutions has won three major global design awards. Samsung SDS stated that in the Service Design category of IDEA 2017 announced recently, the shopping product matching service of Nexshop(NexshopTM), a retail solution based on marketing data analysis, was selected as Top Winner.

According to a survey of current hybrid cloud adoption rates by industry, the financial services industry's hybrid cloud adoption rate was 21%, which was higher than the industry average of 18.5%. IBM Blockchain World Wire… Real-time global financial payment network expands to over 50 countries worldwide
IBM announced on the 19th the expansion of IBM Blockchain World Wire, a real-time global financial settlement network for financial institutions. World Wire was developed to accelerate and optimize foreign exchange transactions and cross-border payment and remittance speeds. Additionally, it integrates payment message transmission, clearing, and settlement procedures into a single network while supporting network participants in selecting various types of digital assets for settlement. Starting from the 19th, the payment service area will be expanded to 72 countries, including 47 global currencies and 44 financial endpoints.
