Korea's Largest Cloud Open Source Software Event Opens
Published2017.06.27 13:21The OpenStack Foundation (www.openstack.org) announced that it will hold 'OpenStack Days Korea 2017' at Lotte Hotel World and COEX in Jamsil on July 13th and 14th.
This event, co-hosted by the OpenStack Foundation and the OpenStack Korea Community, was first held in 2014 as part of an effort to promote OpenStack in Korea and revitalize the related ecosystem. It has established itself as Korea's largest cloud open source software event, attracting 800 to 1,000 participants every year.
This event will be held under the theme of “OpenStack Next: Embracing the Cloud Universe,” and will cover the open cloud infrastructure that OpenStack can create by combining with other open source technologies such as storage and containers.
Jonathan Bryce, Executive Director of the OpenStack Foundation, will be presenting a keynote, along with other organizations such as the Ceph Community, the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.The Global Open Source Software Foundation, as well as SK Telecom, NetApp, and Red Hat, will also participate. Furthermore, Open Source Software Foundation (OSSF) Chairman Koh Kun will attend as a keynote speaker and present on the topic of "Open Source Software Talent Issues in the Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution."
This year, the event has been extended by one day compared to previous years, taking place over two days. To focus on storage and container technologies, which are gaining increasing attention as the cloud evolves and develops, the second day will feature both Ceph Day and Container Day. Various hands-on sessions on Kubernetes and OpenStack are also planned. A gathering of developers and operators working in cloud-related fields in Korea will also be held.
This event will provide a one-stop experience to discover how these technologies, along with OpenStack, are driving the cloud world forward, showcasing the latest technologies from various open source communities and related companies. Pre-registration is currently underway, and registration and detailed information for "OpenStack Day Korea 2017" can be found on the related website (http://event.openstack.or.kr/2017). Some programs from this event will also be streamed via IBM Cloud Video.
OpenStack is an open source technology for building clouds. It was developed in July 2010 through a project by Rackspace and NASA. It is currently operated as a global community with over 73,000 members in 185 countries through the OpenStack Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in 2012.

The OpenStack Foundation will host the OpenStack Summit in Boston.
오픈스택재단은 8일부터 미국 보스턴에서 오픈스택 서밋을 진행하고 있다. 이 오픈스택 서밋 보스턴은 전세계 60개 이상의 국가에서 수천 명의 사용자들이 참석하여 속도와 민첩성, 비용 절감을 위한 프로그래머블 인프라 및 컨테이너 오케스트레이션 프레임워크(container orchestration framework)를 비롯한 오픈소스 기술을 어떻게 결합할 것인가에 관해 논의하는 자리가 될 것이라고 전했다. 이번 서밋 개막 연설에서 오픈스택재단의 이사(Executive Director)인 조나단 브라이스(Jonathan Bryce)가 했다. 그는 “스마트한 기업들이 3C ‘Capabilities(능력)’, ‘Compliance(컴플라이언스)’, ‘Cost(비용)’를 기반으로 한 퍼블릭 및 프라이빗 클라우드를 통해 작업량 배치를 점점 더 정교하게 관리하고 있다.”며, “원격으로 관리하는 프라이빗 클라우드는 오픈스택 생태계에서 빠르게 성장하는 새로운 부분으로서 오픈스택 커뮤니티가 어떻게 더 적은 비용으로 다양하게 활용 가능한 "2세대 프라이빗 클라우드"의 새로운 시대를 열어나가고 있는지 보여주는 탁월한 사례로 꼽을 수 있다.”고 말했다.

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
