Microchip Launches CAN Transceivers Including Automotive Grade 0 Products
Published2017.06.29 14:19Microchip Technology announced the launch of a family of CAN (Controller Area Network) transceivers that includes the industry's first Grade 0 products for automotive applications. The ATA65XX family, newly added to the CAN portfolio, consists of a total of six products.
This new product family supports the recently announced CAN FD (Flexible Data-rate) protocol, which supports communication speeds up to 5 Mb/s, and the CAN PN (Partial Networking) standard for improving energy efficiency in automobiles, and fully meets ISO 118980-2/5/6, 11898-2:2016, and SAE J2962-2.
In addition, this product family supports CAN PN transceivers, including Windows Watchdog, and has been approved by major automotive manufacturers to be used without an external Common Mode Choke (CMC).
Matthias Kaestner, Vice President of Microchip’s Automotive Business Unit, said, “Microchip now possesses the industry’s most powerful and complete CAN portfolio,” adding, “Microchip’s transceivers use fewer external components and occupy minimal board space, lowering system costs while ensuring reliable communication in harsh automotive environments.”

Microchip Launches Controller with Full-Duplex Communication Support
Microchip Technology announced the launch of its latest MOST150 Intelligent Network Interface Controller (INIC). The product enables automotive manufacturers and first-tier suppliers to integrate MOST® (Media Oriented Systems Transport) networks on a full-duplex coaxial physical layer with both ring topology and daisy-chain configurations. By using full-duplex daisy-chain networks, adjacent devices on the network can be connected with a single cable, thereby reducing the cables and connectors required for the reverse channel on each network.

TI Unveils Multi-Axis Coreless Current Sensor TMCS2100-Q1 for HEV/EV Traction Inverters
Texas Instruments has unveiled the TMCS2100-Q1, a multi-axis coreless Hall-effect current sensor for HEV and EV traction inverters. By simultaneously measuring horizontal and vertical magnetic fields through multi-axis sensing technology, it achieves up to 20 times higher accuracy compared to conventional single-axis sensors, while the busbar-unmodified design provides mechanical design flexibility. It simultaneously meets the high-accuracy requirements and miniaturization driven by the expansion of 800V architectures.
