Samsung to Lead HDR Technology Based on QLED TV Picture Quality
Experts from Nanoco, Spectracal, and others directly introduce technology and industry trends.

Samsung Electronics held the 'QLED & HDR10 Summit' event at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Los Angeles for two days starting on the 27th and set out to strengthen its dominance in the premium TV market.

About 100 people, including local media and industry representatives, attended the event co-hosted by Samsung Electronics and Insight Media, a U.S. market research firm specializing in displays, showing interest in Samsung QLED TVs.

Samsung Electronics is showcasing the technological prowess of its premium TVs, such as demonstrating the HDR10 (High Dynamic Range 10) technology of its QLED TVs, and plans to lead the next generation of HDR technology based on the superior picture quality of its QLED TVs, starting with this event.



Equipped with Wide Color Gamut (WCG) technology to enhance color accuracy and color reproduction, QLED TVs support the most advanced HDR technology, 'HDR10 Plus,' delivering the best viewing experience with richer colors and deeper contrast ratios.

Event attendees highly praised the QLED TV's HDR10 Plus technology, which expresses vivid colors tailored to each scene so that specific movie scenes do not appear darker than the original creator intended.

Meanwhile, experts from various fields, including Nanoco, a global quantum dot material company, and SpectraCal, the number one picture quality measurement software company, appeared in person at the event to introduce technologies and industry trends such as QLED TV's HDR10 Plus, calibration, and metrology, thereby enhancing the attendees' understanding.

Kim Moon-soo, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, stated, “HDR is the most important element for ultra-high-definition viewing in the UHD era,” adding, “We will provide the best viewing experience to consumers worldwide through HDR10 Plus and emissive WCG technology integrated into Samsung QLED TVs.”
