Huawei Launches LTE Egg with Overseas Roaming Capability
Published2017.07.04 06:19Huawei has launched the first LTE egg terminal capable of overseas roaming, the 'Global-One egg', through KT. The Global-One egg is one of three LTE egg+ terminals launched by KT, and when applying for data roaming, you can use wireless internet in over 100 major countries around the world without worrying about data.
When connected to WAN/LAN, it automatically switches to a wireless Internet router, allowing up to 32 users to connect simultaneously and use wireless Internet without worrying about LTE data. When you download the Huawei-exclusive app 'HUAWEI HiLink', you can check the status of your device in real time and share photos between devices, which is especially useful when traveling abroad.
A Huawei official said, “The GlobalOne Egg is a Wi-Fi product that Korean consumers planning to travel abroad during the holiday season this year should keep an eye on,” and added, “We plan to introduce a wider range of products so that you can enjoy a convenient mobile life anytime, anywhere.”

KT Implements Nationwide Network Extending Battery Life by Up to 45%
KT has extended smartphone battery usage time by up to 45%. KT's battery-saving technology (hereinafter, C-DRX) is a network-based technology rather than a physical increase in battery capacity. While LTE data connection is maintained, the smartphone's communication function is periodically switched to low-power mode to reduce battery consumption. In existing network environments, the modem and base station maintained continuous communication with the communication function kept active. The C-DRX environment reduces unnecessary battery drain by turning off the communication function when transmission and reception are not occurring.

Western Digital Expands Wi-Fi Wireless External Hard Drive Lineup
Western Digital has expanded its Wi-Fi mobile storage lineup by introducing new My Passport Wireless Pro models in 1TB and 4TB capacities. My Passport Wireless Pro is a wireless external hard drive that provides wireless data storage and remote access capabilities, allowing users to perform various tasks such as file transfers and backups without carrying a laptop during outdoor shooting sessions. Western Digital previously launched 2TB and 3TB versions of My Passport Wireless Pro in August of last year, and has now added 1TB and 4TB capacities to the lineup. In conjunction with the launch of the new lineup, Western Digital has released a firmware update that enables users to transfer, edit, and stream outdoor photography in real-time. The key features of the update are as follows. The built-in SD 3.0 card reader and USB port allow users to copy or move various file formats including RAW format photos, 4K, HD, and SD video to or from the internal hard drive. In addition to SD cards, content transfer stability has been overall improved with compatible devices connected via USB, such as DSLR cameras, action cameras, flash drives, and CompactFlash (CF) card readers. Compatibility with GoPro Hero4 and Hero5 cameras has also been enhanced. Battery life extends up to 10 hours, providing seamless transfer, editing, and streaming performance between My Passport Wireless Pro and iOS and Android-based devices and applications. New capabilities have been added to My Passport Wireless Pro, including the ability to scan photo library metadata while on the move and automatically generate thumbnail previews in the My Cloud app. Through the update, users can now stream media content organization, music playback, video viewing, and photo browsing directly from My Passport Wireless Pro, all based on an even more convenient and powerful Flex interface.
