Infineon Sponsors Intelligent Model Car Competition

Infineon Technologies officially sponsors the Intelligent Model Car Competition organized by Hanyang University’s Future Automotive Research Institute and the Department of Future Automotive Engineering. The 2017 Intelligent Model Car Competition will be held on the 13th (Thursday) at Hanyang University’s Olympic Gymnasium, with approximately 450 university students from 100 teams representing over 50 universities nationwide participating.
Participating university students built model cars for the competition using boards composed of Infineon’s 32-bit multicore microcontroller unit (MCU) AURIX™ and motor driver ICs, applying environmental perception, control algorithm design, and motor control technologies. The competition is conducted by dividing all participating teams into two groups to complete a track, and then selecting the top 20 teams to advance to the finals.
The rankings of the finalist teams will be determined by combining not only driving records but also the results of missions involving future automotive technologies such as Lane Keeping Control, Speed Control Zone Driving, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Obstacle Avoidance. In addition, the 2017 competition was changed to a multi-lane competition using both the first and second lanes, and the introduction of a center lane consisting of dashed lines required the implementation of a higher level of sensor control algorithm.

Infineon will continue to strive to foster high-skilled technical talent in Korea and, as a result, help enhance the technological competitiveness of the Korean automotive industry.”
The winning team of this year's intelligent model car competition will receive the Infineon Grand Prize with a cash prize of 10 million won, and the team that wins the Infineon Special Prize will have the opportunity to visit the Infineon Technologies headquarters in Munich, Germany, to learn about eco-friendly and autonomous driving control technologies.

Infineon Launches Automotive IC for Body Control and Power Distribution
인피니언 테크놀로지스의 새로운 전력 IC 제조 기술 SMART7은 차체제어모듈 (Body Control Module) 및 전원분배센터(Power Distribution Center)와 같은 차량용 애플리케이션을 위해 설계되었다. Infineon Launches Sensor That Measures Speed Fastly and Accurately
Infineon Technologies has launched the Hall sensor TLE4922 and the "Speed Sensor 2Go" kit to enable fast and accurate speed measurement. The TLE4922 was developed for automotive and industrial applications where fast and accurate speed measurement is critical. It is suitable for speed detection of crankshafts and transmissions in two-wheelers and three-wheelers, speed detection in industrial sites and building automation, and electric drive control. The TLE4922 Hall sensor can accurately measure changes in magnetic fields, making it applicable for speed detection of various types of wheels including magnetic encoder wheels and ferromagnetic gear wheels. Additionally, the TLE4922 offers the advantage of reducing system costs because it provides high air gap performance and shift accuracy while allowing a simple and cost-effective back-bias magnet design.
