Korea Virtual Reality Launches High-Definition VR Rendering Program Supporting HMDs
Published2017.07.13 15:21Korea Virtual Reality (CEO Ho-Hyeon Jang), a specialized industrial VR company, announced the launch of the VR rendering program 'KOVI High Render (KHR)'.
KobiHighRender (hereafter referred to as KHR) is a VR rendering program that allows users to navigate spaces designed with "Kobiaki," a VR interior design program from KobiOnline, a SaaS (Software as a Service) provider. This program renders high-quality images in real time, allowing users to explore the space as if they were in a game. While existing design programs often took significant time to render in high definition, "KobiHighRender" delivers high-quality results in under 10 seconds.
Additionally, by wearing an Oculus, a head-mounted display (HMD) that integrates with KHR, users can experience a virtual experience that feels like they're actually walking through a designed virtual space within a VR environment. This further enhances the sense of realism and immersion, thereby enhancing client satisfaction.
Kobi Online is a service that provides online VR design programs based on 3D VR technology. It is recognized as a VR service that provides innovative assistance in design and order consultations for interior design businesses, including architectural interiors, kitchen furniture, built-in furniture, and bathrooms.

[Discussion] "The Future: Coexistence of Mixed Reality and New Media, HMD Devices Must Be Actively Developed"
“제4차 산업혁명은 혼합현실(MR)과 뉴미디어가 혼합된 형태가 될 것이다” 4차산업혁명과 기술의 증강현실과 공존현실을 주제로 한 토론회가 지난 23일 열렸다. 이날 토론회는 한국과학기술연구원(KIST)의 유범재 책임연구원과 과학동아의 윤신영 편집장이 발표와 토론으로 진행됐다. 유범재 책임은 뉴미디어에 대해 실감을 교류하고 인체 감응을 통한 확장된 공간인 공존공간(Coiexstence space)이라고 설명했다. ‘현실-가상-원격공간’이 하나의 공간이 된다. 사용자는 아바타나 스마트 기기를 통해 타인과 실감 교류와 인체 감응하며 공간을 확장한다. 그가 공존공간을 연구하게 된 계기는 스마트폰 시장이 빠르게 자리 잡은 이유와 같다. 1인 가구는 늘어나고 있지만, 사람들과 소통하는 SNS는 점점 확산하는 ‘나 홀로 또 같이’의 가치관이 제2의 스마트폰 시장을 이끌어 간다는 것. 올해 초 페이스북이 발표한 Social VR을 보면, 참여자가 오큘러스 HMD를 착용하고 가상 공간에서 카드 게임이나 칼싸움을 한다. 지난 21일(수)에는 구글이 ‘구글 글래스’ 출시 3년 만에 블루투스 기능을 지원하는 업데이트 ‘XE23’을 발표했다. 이는 페이스북과 구글이 공존현실에 연구를 진행하고 있음을 알 수 있는 대목이다.

You can make firefighting training fun with realistic VR experiences.
Metaport, which is conducting virtual fire drill training in cooperation with the Gyeonggi-do Disaster and Safety Headquarters at the Smart Tech Show, opened a fire experience zone. The immersive virtual training experience utilizing VR technology includes ▲'Heroes On Fire,' which allows up to 200 firefighters to train ▲'I'm a Firefighter,' which provides indirect experience of firefighting ▲'Golden 5,' virtual training to prepare for various disaster scenarios. A Metaport official stated, "There are limitations when firefighters conduct training by actually using fire," and added, "Through Heroes On Fire training, diverse scenario training is possible and costs can be reduced."

VR used to be device-centric, now content-centric.
킨텍스에서 28일(수)부터 3일간 VR 서밋이 열렸다. 미국의 글로벌 미디어 그룹 라이징미디어(RisingMedia)와 킨텍스가 공동 주최한 행사는 VR 게임과 VR 저널리즘, 성인용 VR 콘텐츠 등 다양한 부스를 전시하고 8개국에서 온 20여 명의 전문가와 콘퍼런스를 진행했다. 전시장에는 그동안 만나볼 수 있었던 VR 총게임 외에도 낮은 마찰력을 갖는 전용 신발을 신고 걷거나 뛰며 게임하는 Omni, 기존 플레이스테이션에서 하던 게임을 VR로 재연한 콘텐츠와 VR전용 플레이스테이션4, HMD를 착용하고 드론을 조종해 풍경 속에서 드론을 날리는 피씨디렉트, 양팔과 배에 센서를 착용하고 태권도를 하는 VR체험, 성인VR콘텐츠 등을 만날 수 있었다.
