Kaminario Unveils All-Flash Storage Based on Intel Technology
Published2017.07.14 10:44Kaminario has unveiled the newly enhanced features of its latest version of all-flash storage, the Kaminario K2 Gen6, based on Intel technology.
The Kaminario K2 Gen6 uses a storage controller manufactured by Supermicro and is equipped with the Intel C6268 chipset featuring Intel® QAT (QuickAssist Technology). The new configuration of the Kaminario K2 Gen6 enhances the following technical advantages by performing the inline compression functions of Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors in a dedicated compression engine.
Intel QAT, which accelerates data compression and decompression, operates as a PCIe/NVMe module and is mounted inside a storage controller manufactured by Supermicro using a front PCIe/NVMe slot. Through an approach emphasizing extreme flexibility, it not only supports compression engines but also allows for the easy application of future innovative technologies, such as NVMe connected storage-class memory drives like Intel® Optane™ SSDs.
Kaminario K2 operates based on VisionOS ™ , a software-defined storage architecture and a framework for data services. In particular, Vision OS’s DataShrink feature is a comprehensive data reduction service that includes updated compression algorithms, selective deduplication, thin provisioning, and RAID protection services.

Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
