"Smart Content: The Key to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Revitalizing Domestic Competitiveness"

The Next-Generation Convergence Content Industry Association (Chairman Choi Yo-chul) announced that the "2017 Smart Content Business Day" event held on the 20th at the Anyang Smart Content Center was successfully completed.
The event, which drew approximately 700 participants, was hosted by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (Minister You Young-min) and organized by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA, President Yoon Jong-rok).
Kim Young-moon, Director of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, stated in his opening remarks, "Among the 100 national policy tasks announced by the government recently, digital content for restoring the ICT ecosystem has emerged as an important industry. It is true that even when startups create new business models, there are so many regulations that it is difficult for them to grow on their own. It is the government's role to remove these regulations, and we will ensure that more support goes to startups."
The business day, held under the theme of "Smart Content & Industry 4.0," featured various events including expert conferences to predict the direction of industry paradigm shifts and business models, ICT content exhibitions, and overseas media zones.
At the expert conference, domestic and international companies representing the smart content industry participated as speakers to share information on market trends and content development know-how in artificial intelligence (AI), virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR), edutech, and webtoons—the core areas of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
International companies including IBM, known for its artificial intelligence supercomputer "Watson," and Amazon, famous for its AI assistant Alexa and AWS (Amazon Web Service), participated and presented global trends and business application cases.
Domestic companies were represented by experts from leading ICT enterprises including KT, District Holdings, Lezhin Entertainment, EduPang, and Doberman Squad, who presented on future strategies for the content industry in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era and market entry possibilities.
Supporting events included premium ICT content exhibition zones and overseas media zones. The premium ICT content exhibition zone featured exhibitions and demonstrations of outstanding content from 10 companies including those based at the Smart Content Center and domestic ICT enterprises.
