KT and Daegu City are jointly nurturing Internet of Things experts to lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

KT announced that it will participate in the establishment and operation of the 'Daegu City IoT Academy (iotacademy.or.kr),' a specialized training institution for IoT experts to lead the 4th Industrial Revolution and revitalize the local economy.

For the 'Daegu City IoT Academy', KT will ▲ provide opportunities for hands-on training and utilization of KT's IoT platform 'IoTMakers', ▲ design specialized training programs to enable the development of IoT services, and ▲ support training materials and specialized instructors for each course.

At the 'Daegu City IoT Academy,' KT has designed and is providing lecture support for three courses: a 'Theory/Practice Course' that provides hands-on training in IoT theory and service development, a 'Project Course' that creates prototypes for IoT commercialization, and a 'Business Model Course' that aims to discover IoT business models. Currently, students for three courses are being recruited through the IoT Academy (iotacademy.or.kr) website.

Lee Jun-seop, head of KT's software development division, said, "We will continue to strive to expand the IoT ecosystem by leveraging KT's software expertise and supporting students, entrepreneurs, startups, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in collaboration with universities, research institutes, and regional creative economy innovation centers."

Meanwhile, to expand the IoT ecosystem, KT signed MOUs with universities in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas last year and opened and operated a 'regular IoT education' course. In addition, it is collaborating with universities, local governments, and regional creative economy innovation centers across the country to provide opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs, startups, and small and medium-sized enterprises to develop experts and discover new business opportunities.
