[Seminar] Easily Implement Machine Learning with Smart Sensor Modules

CEO Jaejun Jeong, who has over 15 years of practical experience through Kernel Research Group (www.kernel.bz), will share his expertise online. EEWebinar, run by E4ds.com (www.e4ds.com), Korea's largest online seminar provider for IT and electronics, announced that it will hold an online seminar titled "Jeong Jaejun's Machine Learning Special Lecture - Implementing Machine Learning Applications with Smart Sensor Modules " on September 7th.
The sensor chips are ST's LSM6DS0, LIS3MDL, and HTS221, which have proven reliability in the market. The LSM6DS0 will be used to measure inclination and angular velocity in three directions. In addition, the LIS3MDL will collect orientation (compass) information in three axes, and the HTS221 will collect temperature and humidity data. These sensor chips are connected to the Cortex-M0 (STM32F0), a low-power, high-efficiency 32-bit MCU that has already been proven in the market, via an I2C interface.
The module collects sensor data more effectively and can be conveniently applied to various applications in the Internet of Things market. In this webinar, CEO Jaejun Jeong will introduce these sensor modules and demonstrate how to apply them to your applications.

[Interview] “Significantly reducing size and power loss with high-speed ADC adopting RF sampling”
As data rate and bandwidth requirements grow to meet high-bandwidth communication systems, interest in fast RF sampling is also increasing. The problem is that many obstacles must be overcome to achieve fast and distortion-free RF sampling. For example, in conventional RF receivers, the RF frequency must pass through a mixer stage to down-convert to the IF band, and a quadrature demodulator must be used. This inevitably introduces unnecessary latency and physical space, as well as signal distortion.

[Interview] Inverter, the core of the motor, improves efficiency through accurate harmonic measurement
Consumer appliances are trending toward smaller, lighter, and more energy-efficient products. How can we reduce power consumption and improve efficiency? The motor is the key differentiating factor in consumer appliances. Conventional constant-speed motors rotate at the same speed whenever electricity is supplied, and a constant level of electrical power must continuously be applied. This makes them vulnerable to voltage fluctuations and results in high power consumption. Motor technology that addresses these issues involves incorporating an inverter. An inverter, which converts direct current to alternating current, can achieve desired voltage and frequency levels during conversion. By embedding an inverter in the motor, the motor's rotational speed can be adjusted according to energy demand, enabling control of speed and efficiency.

[인터뷰] “애플리케이션에 따른 최상의 ADC 선택 방법은요”
ADC가 높은 분해능과 빠른 샘플링 속도만 가졌다고 좋은 제품일까, 여기에 가격이 저렴하면 가장 이상적인 ADC라고 할 수 있을까. 아나로그디바이스(ADI) FAE 황선화 부장은 ‘꼭 그런 것은 아니다’라고 말한다. “어떤 조건을 갖춰야 이상적이라고 딱 하나를 꼬집기 보다는 내가 설계하려는 애플리케이션에 맞는 ADC가 가장 좋은 제품이다.” 예를 들면 이런 것이다. 빛, 소리, 비디오 등 어떤 신호를 디텍트 할 것인지에 따라 센서가 다른데 이런 신호의 종류에 따라 ADC 앞에 쓰이는 센서단도 달라진다. 센서에서 중요한 것은 감도와 동적 범위(Dynamic Range)이다. 검출하려는 소리가 어떨 때는 크고, 어떤 때는 작다면 ‘디텍트’ 범위가 넓어야 한다.

[Interview] TI's Driver Assistance SoC Provides Everything You Need for ADAS Design
지난 4월 일부 개정안을 마련한 ‘교통안전법 시행령 및 시행규칙’이 이달 18일부터 시행한다. 버스와 화물 등 대형 사업용 차량에 졸음 운전 등 운전자의 의도와 무관하게 차로를 벗어나는 것을 경고하는 ‘차선유지 보조시스템(LDWS)’ 장착을 의무화하는 것이다. 최근 대형버스의 졸음운전으로 인해 충돌사고가 일어나면서 첨단운전자보조시스템(ADAS) 장착 의무화에 대한 목소리가 커지고 있다. ADAS는 LDWS말고도 전방추돌 경보시스템(FCWS), 주차조향 보조시스템(IPAS), 차량자동 항법장치(CNS), 후방주차 지원시스템(RPAS), 보행인식 경보시스템(PCWS)으로 6가지가 포함된다. ADAS 기술은 카메라가 상황을 인식하는 기술인 만큼 제품별로 성능의 차이가 있다.
