The number of monthly active users on Instagram, a social media platform for sharing photos and videos, has exceeded 700 million. Now, capturing daily life in photos or videos is no longer unusual, even when it is not a trip or a special occasion.

There is a wearable camera that can automatically record daily life at regular intervals. It is 'MEWECLIP' from Cearstech Technology, a device platform specialist that provides communication modules, service terminals, and mobile apps related to smart homes and mobile healthcare.

Existing small cameras, such as action cams, had drawbacks including battery drain and the inconvenience of transferring or storing recorded content. The Miweeclip allows for automatic transfer by connecting to a smartphone app, without the need for cables or manual operation.

It attaches to bags, clothes, hats, etc. with a clip, requiring no special operation to take photos. If you set a fixed interval of 1 to 3 minutes, photos are automatically taken every hour and saved in chronological order. For manual shooting, simply tap the front of the camera twice. Pressing the button twice also allows you to record short videos of about 5 to 60 seconds.

If you create an account by linking it with a dedicated app, it provides cloud storage for photos. These stored photos can be viewed from anywhere, and the app also features a function to easily edit them into videos. It can also be shared on social media.

Equipped with a light sensor, gyroscope, and GPS, it allows you to check your movement path on a smartphone using location information from photos. It enables wireless operation via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi data transmission, and features an LED indicator to display battery capacity and on/off status.

It measures 35.5 x 35.5mm and weighs 20g. The battery capacity is 210mAh, allowing for approximately 12 hours of use. Photos can be set up to a maximum size of 3264 x 2446, and it features a built-in microphone. The device has 4GB of internal memory.

A representative from Cearstech Technology stated, “It is possible to take photos even while riding modes of transportation such as bicycles or motorcycles. Since the photos reveal the location, you can track the route you have taken, allowing for records to be organized by time and place.”

Miwiclip was first introduced last year through the US crowdfunding site Kickstarter, and is scheduled to be released in Korea at the end of this month.
