Schneider Korea CEO Receives 2017 4th Industrial Revolution Management Award
Published2017.09.04 11:25The 4th Industrial Revolution Power Korea Daejeon was held to foster a national consensus on the 4th Industrial Revolution and contribute to building a smart society. In particular, the 4th Industrial Revolution Management Grand Prize was awarded to selected local governments and outstanding corporate cases that contributed to the development of the 4th industry.
The 4th Industrial Revolution Smart Leader Award is an award presented by the National Assembly Convergence Innovation Economy Forum, a research group of National Assembly members, to business leaders who have contributed to industrial development through the introduction and implementation of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Kim Kyung-rok, CEO of Schneider Electric Korea, was highly praised for his contributions in presenting a new vision for the Fourth Industrial Revolution by successfully introducing the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)-based integrated solution 'EcoStruxure' to the domestic market.
Schneider Electric is a global energy management and automation specialist that has supplied IIoT-based solutions across various industries, including buildings, data centers, factories, and power grids. 'Life Is On' connects hardware and software to enable the safe and efficient use of energy.
In particular, in 2017, it introduced the EcoStruxure integrated solution utilizing IIoT capabilities. EcoStruxure is an energy management and automation solution that maximizes IoT technology, enabling increased productivity in industrial sites by improving energy efficiency and optimizing processes through IoT.
"Schneider Electric CEO Kim Kyung-rok said, 'Schneider Electric has been preparing for the Fourth Industrial Revolution since early on, and receiving this award in the process holds special significance.' He added, 'We will continue to cooperate with the government to contribute to Korea securing competitiveness in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and as a global energy management company, we will strive even harder to provide efficient and stable integrated solutions.'"

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is said to be an opportunity to achieve manufacturing innovation. Kim: You mention innovation, but how does adopting 'Industrial IoT' improve things? Jung: In Korea, people tend to just do what the government or their superiors tell them to do, so this sense of thirst continues to persist. And people mainly talk about revolution, but Schneider calls it evolution. It's not that something entirely new is created, but rather that productivity increases, electricity costs decrease, data becomes easier to view, downtime is reduced, and more aspects become automated.

Schneider, Q2 Assessment: 'Growing Rapidly'
The sustainable development is measured quarterly using 16 indices of the Planet & Society Barometer. At the end of June 2017, Schneider Electric achieved a total score of 8.91 points, exceeding the barometer target of 8.25 points. The evaluation was classified into Planet, Profit, and People categories. By each sector: ▲CO2 emissions during transportation decreased by 10%, and 100% of R&D products were designed according to Schneider ecoDesign Way ▲75% of product revenue was generated with Green Premium eco-friendly labels, and 100% of recommended suppliers adopted ISO 26000 guidelines ▲A 64% employee engagement index was recorded, and 1,300 missions were promoted through Schneider Electric Teachers NGO, achieving these results.

Schneider Expands Uninterruptible Power Supply Solutions to Enable High-Density Power Protection
Schneider Electric has expanded its Galaxy V-Series UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) solutions for data center and industrial applications, enabling large data centers of all sizes to efficiently achieve high-density power protection. With an expanded power range available from 500kW to 1500kW, the Galaxy VX delivers versatile power support across diverse data center markets, meeting high availability requirements. This includes medium to large-scale and hyperscale data centers that require greater power capacity. The Schneider Electric Galaxy V-Series platform was initially launched as the Galaxy VM series in 2014, followed by the Galaxy VX series in June 2016.

Ecolab and K-water Discuss Innovation Collaboration in Advanced Industry Water Management
