KT Showcases Immersive Media Technology at Korea VR Festival
Published2017.09.18 05:46KT (Chairman Hwang Chang-gyu) will present immersive media technologies including VR and hologram at the Korea VR Festival 2017 (KVRF), the nation's largest VR exhibition, running from the 16th to 20th at Nuridream Square in Sangam, Seoul.
At KT's exhibition booth, visitors can experience various VR contents such as bobsled and spacecraft, and at the advanced cultural experience space Sangam 'K-live X VR PARK', VR and hologram immersive content screenings will be presented along with a 'Carrey and Toy Friends' performance, offering enjoyable experiences to children visiting the event.
KVRF is a VR-specialized exhibition jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Information and Communications Technology Promotion Agency, and managed by the Korea Virtual Reality Industry Association.

VR/AR companies are exploring overseas markets through overseas distribution bases.
The Ministry of Science and Technology Information and Communications (Minister Yoo Young-min, hereinafter referred to as the MSTIC) announced that it will launch a support project for overseas distribution bases in the virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) industry, a core sector of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, thereby making a full-scale push into overseas market development for domestic companies. This project will promote overseas distribution of promising domestic content by supporting domestic companies in establishing offline stores in the form of VR content overseas urban experience centers in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, through R&D-linked support for VR/AR content development and related solution development.
