Introduction to the 'KT-MEG' Platform and GiGA Energy Service

KT is participating in the '2017 Korea Energy Show,' the largest comprehensive energy exhibition in Korea, held at KINTEX in Ilsan from the 19th to the 22nd, and is operating an exhibition booth to introduce the present and future of KT's energy business.

The KT exhibition booth consists of corners introducing KT's representative energy services, such as GiGA energy manager, GiGA energy DR, GiGA energy Gen, and GiGA energy charge, centered around the 'KT-MEG' platform.

The KT-MEG platform is the world's first integrated energy management platform equipped with 'e-Brain,' an AI-based big data analysis engine. KT plans to showcase the monitoring status of over 11,000 interconnected sites and the three-stage mechanism of 'diagnosis-prediction-optimal control' analyzed by 'e-Brain' via large monitors. Visitors can vividly experience the KT-MEG Control Center located in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, through VR devices and videos provided at the exhibition booth.

GiGA Energy Manager is a service that analyzes big data from energy-intensive customers, such as factories, large buildings, and apartments, to identify factors causing energy waste and reduce costs. Energy savings are possible through basic fee reductions achieved by adjusting to an appropriate contracted power level after analyzing customers' excessive electricity usage patterns, as well as through the optimal operation control of energy facilities based on 'e-Brain'. Customers visiting the exhibition booth can receive guidance on specific service implementation plans and expected benefits through on-site consulting.

GiGA energy DR is a service that analyzes customers' energy consumption patterns to identify reduction factors, registers the saved electricity with the Korea Power Exchange (KPX), and supports the management of reduction implementation. KT's energy specialists monitor customers' energy situations 24 hours a day to provide real-time services regarding reduction orders issued by the KPX. Visitors can experience the entire process, from DR business contracting to reduction implementation, through terminals installed at the exhibition booth and mobile web services.

GiGA energy Gen is a service that provides a total solution for renewable energy businesses, covering the entire process from design and construction to operation and control of renewable energy facilities. KT plans to exhibit a model of its self-developed converged Energy Storage System (ESS) and demonstrate, through GiGA Genie and VR videos, how it responds quickly to failures at solar power plants and improves energy production rates.

In addition, in the section introducing KT's electric vehicle charging service GiGA energy charge, you can try out Charging Mate, a mobile app that provides information on electric vehicle charging locations and offers reservation and payment services.
