Konus, a company specializing in sensor-based IoT, recently introduced an occupancy detection system for patient convenience in the inpatient rooms of Gachon University Gil Hospital in Incheon.

This system uses wireless sensors that detect the human body to accurately identify occupancy information for restrooms and shower rooms within hospital rooms and displays it as an indicator, eliminating the inconvenience of patients with limited mobility having to physically approach and check occupancy status.

Konus has been actively developing a smart occupancy detection system business that reflects customer needs following the acquisition of a patent last June, and has expanded the scope of its business application to hospitals, following projects such as highway rest area restroom remodeling, the introduction of smart restrooms in KTX and SRT stations, and the joint development of a smart room management system for accommodation establishments.
