Autodesk and the 3D Printing Industry Association, a leading non-profit organization in the domestic 3D printing industry, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote domestic 3D printing technology and strengthen technological capabilities at the 'Autodesk University Korea' held at the COEX Convention Center on the 27th.

This MOU includes the collaboration between the two companies to introduce Autodesk Fusion 360 as a standard tool for the 3D Printing Industry Association's training and certification courses, and to ultimately promote the development of the domestic 3D printing industry through cooperation in training for domestic 3D printing experts, job creation, and technology transfer.

Over the past three years, the 3D Printing Industry Association has trained over 10,000 people through its 3D printing specialist training program. Through this collaboration, the two companies will adopt Fusion 360 as the standard training tool for the 300 member companies and 30 training facilities of the 3D Printing Industry Association, and will continue to support the spread of 3D printing technology and the strengthening of technical capabilities.

Fusion 360, powered by Autodesk, is a cloud-based software that combines design, collaboration, and machining tools into a single tool. It supports all manufacturing tasks, including product design, simulation, and data management. Users can design, test, and manufacture all within a single tool, enabling them to develop product ideas and prototypes more quickly.

Choi Ki-young, CEO of Autodesk Korea, said, “3D printing technology is meeting cloud and mobile technologies to create possibilities for a new dimension of manufacturing. “The future of making things, where anything that comes to mind can be easily made into reality, has become a reality,” he said. “Through the collaboration between our two companies, we will contribute to strengthening domestic 3D printing technology expertise and capabilities, as well as bringing innovation to the manufacturing industry from startups to large corporations.”

Meanwhile, Autodesk operates the 'Autodesk Education Community', which provides Autodesk software free of charge to students, teachers, and educational institutions as part of its activities to foster next-generation talent, and provides Autodesk's 3D design tools and educational programs, including Fusion 360, free of charge to 'Maker Space', a shared creative space of the non-profit organization Fab Foundation.
