Samsung Electronics and TÜV SÜD issue approval mark after joint testing

Samsung Electronics has developed a joint testing program for Samsung Electronics LED automotive components together with the global testing and certification organization TÜV SÜD.

Samsung Electronics LED Business Team and TÜV SÜD held a ceremony on the 24th to commemorate the development of a joint testing program at the TÜV SÜD Korea headquarters located in 2IFC, Yeouido.



TÜV SÜD, headquartered in Munich, Germany, is a global certification body with a tradition of over 150 years. It provides comprehensive technical services, including testing, certification, inspection, and training, to protect the safety of people, the environment, and property, and boasts a history of over 100 years and global authority in the field of automotive testing and certification.

Generally, when supplying LED components for automotive electronics to finished vehicle manufacturers, the results of product quality tests conducted in-house by the manufacturer are required. Samsung Electronics developed a testing program in collaboration with a third-party certification body for the first time in the LED automotive electronics industry to objectively prove the quality and reliability of its products.

Samsung Electronics has strengthened its quality verification capabilities by applying additional safety test items jointly developed with TÜV SÜD to this program, in addition to the AEC-Q102 international standard for automotive components, and has enhanced the reliability of the quality of Samsung Electronics' LED automotive components by providing a separate approval mark.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics obtained the Acceptance of Client's Testing (ACT) from TÜV SÜD last July, receiving recognition for the test quality and reliability of its LED automotive components.
