Samsung Electronics, together with Samsung Display, SDI, Electro-Mechanics, and SDS, held the '2017 Samsung Partner Recruitment Fair' at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, to secure excellent talent for its partner companies.

The ‘Samsung Partner Company Recruitment Fair’ is an event that has been held since 2012 to provide small and medium-sized partner companies with a platform to meet excellent talent and to provide high-quality jobs to job seekers.

The opening ceremony of the event was attended by Lee Yong-sup, Vice Chairman of the Job Creation Committee; Ahn Chung-young, Chairman of the Korea Commission for Shared Growth; Kim Hyun-suk, President of Samsung Electronics' CE Division; Kim Young-jae, CEO of Daeduck Electronics; and Jung Koo-yong, CEO of Nexplus.

A total of about 120 partner companies, including 86 Samsung Electronics partners, participated and conducted company introductions and on-site interviews.

Representative participating companies include semiconductor partners Daeduck Electronics, PSK, and DI, as well as TV and mobile phone partners Lumens, Cresyn, and Hirose Korea, all of which possess global competitiveness.

Kim Young-jae, Chairman of the Samsung Electronics Suppliers Council and CEO of Daeduck Electronics, a printed circuit board specialist, said, “Through this event, partner companies can enhance their credibility to secure top talent, and job seekers will have the opportunity to work for sound small and medium-sized enterprises. This will not only benefit both partners and job seekers but also contribute to job creation and mutually beneficial cooperation.”

Bok-young, a manager in the HR and General Affairs team at DI, a company specializing in semiconductor inspection equipment, said, “Demand continues to increase, so the equipment “We have been short of skilled development personnel, and we want to secure top talent at this job fair,” he said. “As there was high interest from job seekers, we have high expectations for recruitment.”

In his opening remarks, Samsung Electronics President Kim Hyun-suk stated, “The partner companies participating in this event are firms with top-tier competitiveness in their respective fields, and securing excellent talent is their most critical need for sustainable growth,” adding, “Samsung Electronics will continue to engage in mutual growth activities to contribute to job creation.”

In his congratulatory remarks, Lee Yong-sup, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Jobs, stated, “Creating good jobs is the best solution to simultaneously overcome the low growth and polarization facing the Korean economy,” and urged, “I hope that Samsung Electronics, the nation’s largest employer creating over 100,000 jobs, will continue to do its utmost to create good jobs.”

Vice Chairman Lee went on to emphasize, “While Samsung Electronics generating significant profits contributes to the national economy, creating more jobs through shared growth with small and medium-sized partner companies contributes more to improving the quality of life for the people and is the way to fulfill social responsibility.”

He also said, “I hope Samsung Electronics takes the lead in establishing a fair economy so that small and medium-sized enterprises and venture startups, which can be called a treasure trove of future job creation, can be revitalized.”

On this day, a 'Total Employment Solution Hall' was set up at the site to help job seekers successfully find employment, and about 20 employee consultants from the career consulting centers of electronics affiliates such as Samsung Electronics provided comprehensive information on employment and conducted counseling, ranging from resume and interview consulting to on-site company matching.
