73 LG Electronics service engineers who passed the preliminary rounds participated in the '2017 Korea Service Technology Olympics,' held on the 17th at the LG Electronics Learning Center in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do. Over 200 people participated in the preliminary rounds, resulting in a competition ratio of approximately 3:1. Officials from the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea also attended the event.

LG Electronics selected a total of 19 finalists by creating artificial defects in products such as TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, mobile phones, and PCs, and evaluating factors such as the ability to accurately repair the faulty parts and the time taken for repairs. The top award, the Minister of Employment and Labor Award, was presented to Engineer Jung Sung-pil from the Wonju Center.

Since 2002, LG Electronics has been holding the Technology Olympics for service engineers nationwide every year to improve their repair skills and strengthen customer service.

Lee Kyu-taek, Senior Vice President of LG Electronics Korea Service FD, emphasized, “Accurate repairs of increasingly sophisticated electronic products require the technical expertise of service engineers,” adding, “We will provide differentiated customer service by enhancing the repair capabilities of our service engineers.”

Meanwhile, LG Electronics received the Presidential Award in the "Service Innovation" category at the 42nd National Quality Management Conference held last year, earning recognition for its top-tier customer service in Korea.
