TI Brings Ethernet Connectivity to Its Wired and Wireless Communication MCU Platforms
Published2017.11.29 10:27TI has introduced Ethernet connectivity to its single SimpleLink microcontroller (MCU) platform, a suite of hardware, software and tool options for wired and wireless communication MCUs that allows developers to more easily connect sensors from gateways to the cloud.
The new SimpleLink MSP432 Ethernet MCUs are based on a high-performance 120MHz ARM Cortex-M4F core with integrated MAC and PHY, helping to accelerate time to market for grid infrastructure and industrial automation gateway applications.
The SimpleLink MSP432 Ethernet MCU integrates an Ethernet MAC, PHY, USB, and CAN, saving developers time and simplifying board layout. Wireless connectivity technologies such as Sub-1 GHz, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth can be combined with wired communications via built-in serial interfaces, enabling end nodes to connect to the cloud.
By offering the industry's broadest portfolio of ARM MCUs for wired and wireless communications, developers can easily design a wide range of end nodes and intelligent gateways in areas such as grid, factory automation, and building automation using the same software code.
Developers can build wireless sensor networks by creating sensor nodes using SimpleLink wireless MCUs and connecting those secure sensor nodes to a gateway. Based on the SimpleLink Ethernet MSP432E4 MCU, this gateway acts as a central management console, processing and aggregating data and even transmitting it to the cloud for further analysis, visualization, and storage. Companies developing this type of gateway can leverage existing wired infrastructure while also adding the latest wireless connectivity technologies.
For example, in an HVAC (air conditioning, ventilation, and air conditioning) system, a network of air quality sensors and wired dampers can be created using SimpleLink MCUs such as the Sub-1GHz CC1310 wireless MCU and the MSP432P4 host MCU, which are then connected to an Ethernet-enabled HVAC system controller and sent to the cloud.

TI Launches MSDI Products with Lower System Power Consumption
TI는 기존 솔루션보다 최대 98%까지 더 적은 시스템 전력을 소모하는 MSDI 제품 2종을 출시한다고 밝혔다. TIC12400과 TIC12400-Q1은 저항 코드화 스위치와 직접 인터페이스할 수 있는 최초의 스위치 센서 모니터링 디바이스이다. TIC12400과 TIC12400-Q1은 기본적으로 입력을 모니터링하고 하나의 디바이스에 많게는 54개 스위치의 저항 경로를 디코딩하여 프로세서가 스위칭 신호를 디코딩해야 하는 부담을 덜어주어 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있다.

TI, 줄줄 새는 대기전력 LLC 컨트롤러로 잡는다

TI의 고성능 LLC(inductor-inductor-capacitor) 공진 컨트롤러 제품인 UCC256301은 광범위한 AC/DC 애플리케이션을 위한 에너지 효율 표준을 준수하는 비용 효율적인 시스템 솔루션을 제공한다.
