Samsung Electronics QLED Gaming Monitor HDR 600 Grade

Samsung Electronics' QLED gaming monitors CHG90 and CHG70 have received HDR display standard certification from the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA).

HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a high-definition technology that optimizes contrast to make bright areas of videos and photos brighter and dark areas darker, making them appear more vivid and natural.

Unlike TVs, there were no standard specifications for HDR performance on PC monitors and laptop displays, but on the 11th of this month, VESA tested the relevant product groups and introduced a standard certification program to the industry that grants three grades (DisplayHDR 400, 600, and 1000).

The 'DisplayHDR 600' rating, which has been certified by VESA for two Samsung QLED gaming monitors, is sufficient to properly enjoy HDR content even in bright indoor environments with the lights on.

In particular, the CHG90, which was recently certified by VESA, is the world's largest 49-inch gaming monitor, and has a 32:9 screen ratio, a fast response speed of 1ms, and a refresh rate of 144Hz. Recently, the product has been receiving favorable reviews from overseas IT media outlets.

British home appliances & middoTrusted Review, a leading IT product review publication, selected the CHG90 as its "Best Monitor 2017." The publication stated, "The CHG90 is a perfect gaming monitor, boasting a sophisticated design, a variety of cutting-edge features, and excellent image quality."

British IT media outlet TechRadar gave the CHG90 a perfect five-star rating, stating, “The CHG90 is one of the most functionally unique and visually impressive monitors we’ve ever reviewed.”

The media outlet highlighted the excellent HDR capabilities of the CHG90, praising it, saying, “With QLED technology, colors are expressed accurately and richly, and darkness is depicted like a deep night sky,” and “Sitting in front of the CHG90 is like watching magic.”

Meanwhile, VESA will exhibit its DisplayHDR certified products, including the CHG90 and CHG70, at the DisplayPort booth in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center at CES 2018, which will be held from January 9 to 12 next year.
