Four features: menu color inversion, black and white, subtitle position adjustment, and the SeaColors app.

Samsung Electronics is significantly enhancing accessibility for the visually and hearing impaired across all of its UHD TVs, including the 2018 QLED TVs.

Samsung Electronics has been working to improve accessibility to TV viewing by listening to the opinions of major disability organizations in each country, including Korea, and has been recognized for this by winning the CES Innovation Award in the "Accessibility" category for four consecutive years since 2015.

There are four new accessibility features added to the 2018 Samsung QLED TVs and UHD TVs.

The first is the "Menu Color Inversion" feature, which improves the readability of TV menus for those with low vision. This feature addresses the problem of the conventional black text on a white background, which can easily cause eye fatigue for those with low vision due to their sensitivity to light. This feature inverts the menu colors to white text on a black background, allowing those with low vision to view the menu comfortably without glare.

The second is the 'black and white' function, which allows 'color blind' viewers who cannot perceive color at all to see the video clearly. Considering that color has little meaning for color-blind viewers who can distinguish object shapes only through the contrast ratio of black and white, the viewing screen is converted to black and white to enhance the contrast ratio and make the boundaries between images clearer.

The third feature, "Subtitle Position Adjustment," is an industry-first for TVs, designed for viewers with hearing loss who have difficulty hearing. This feature allows users to freely adjust the position of subtitles on the screen, allowing them to conveniently place them wherever they want and enjoy TV viewing.

Lastly, it supports the 'SeeColors' app, which allows people with color weakness to experience rich TV colors by understanding their color perception level (red/green/blue) and emphasizing and correcting specific colors (red/green/blue) that they cannot perceive.
