Samsung Electronics is simultaneously launching the new SSD '860 PRO/860 EVO' series, which incorporates cutting-edge semiconductor technology, in approximately 50 countries around the world, including Korea, the United States, China, and Germany.

Samsung Electronics announced that all models in the '860 PRO/860 EVO' series are equipped with cutting-edge semiconductors, including the latest 64-layer V-NAND, data center-grade MJX controller, and 10nm-class mobile DRAM (LPDDR4).

Following the '850 PRO/850 EVO' series, which led the popularization of SSDs in the consumer storage market by being the first in the industry to be equipped with 3D V-NAND in 2014, the '860 PRO/860 EVO' is expected to expand the high-capacity SSD market based on even faster speed and stability.

The '860 PRO/860 EVO' is equipped with the 4th generation (64-layer) V-NAND and the latest 10nm-class mobile DRAM (LPDDR4), achieving sequential read/write speeds of up to 560 MB/s/530 MB/s and random read/write speeds of up to 100K IOPS/90K IOPS, processing complex multitasking tasks more smoothly.

In addition, Samsung Electronics has adopted a data center-grade MJX controller developed in-house, expanding OS compatibility from Windows to Linux.

Durability and reliability have also been greatly enhanced. In particular, the 4TB 860 PRO offers the industry's highest 4,800 TBW (Terabytes Written), which is enough to write and erase FHD videos (1,920×1,080, 5.0GB) more than 500 times per day for 5 years, increasing the investment efficiency of various storage systems, and the warranty period is up to 5 years.

Additionally, the '860 PRO•860 EVO' will be released in a total of 17 models to provide customized solutions according to various consumer needs and usage environments.

The 860 PRO is a high-performance product that delivers outstanding performance to consumers, including IT professionals, personal network-attached storage (NAS) servers, and workstations, and is available in five models from 256GB to 4TB in a single 2.5-inch form factor.

The 860 EVO is available in 12 models from 250GB up to 4TB in three form factors: 2.5-inch, M.2, and mSATA for individual consumers who want better PC performance.

In particular, the 860 EVO has been equipped with a more enhanced Intelligent TurboWrite function, which increases the maximum sustained speed range during write operations by up to 6 times compared to the 850 EVO, maximizing the performance perceived by consumers.
