KT-MEG Platform Released for Energy Alliance Members to Utilize

KT held a launch ceremony for the 'KT Energy Alliance,' a joint cooperative body that will present a new paradigm for the energy industry, together with 20 domestic and international member companies at the 'KT-MEG (Micro Energy Grid) Center' located in Gwacheon, and announced that it would open the integrated energy management platform 'KT-MEG' to all member companies.

The KT-MEG platform is the world's first integrated energy management platform equipped with the AI-based big data analysis engine 'e-Brain'. Currently, KT-MEG is connected to approximately 10,000 customer sites and is achieving results across all business sectors, including energy consumption, production, and trading.

The 'KT Energy Alliance' is a business alliance aimed at creating an ecosystem for all sectors of the energy business (production-consumption-trading). It is planned to gradually expand, centering on 20 member companies in the energy efficiency sector (16 equipment manufacturers, 3 solution providers, and 1 diagnostic company).

KT announced that, with the launch of the Energy Alliance, it will make KT-MEG—originally its own proprietary platform—available for use by all member companies joining the Energy Alliance.

By utilizing the KT-MEG platform, manufacturers can remotely monitor delivered equipment and commercialize intelligent services using 'e-Brain'. In addition to this, if good business ideas are discovered, KT plans to consider not only providing technical support to member companies but also pursuing joint business ventures.

Remote monitoring utilizing the KT-MEG platform has made it possible to verify cost savings and significantly improve maintenance efficiency. Century and KT will complete the integration of KT-MEG within the first half of the year and begin providing services.

KT plans to recruit member companies in the renewable energy production sector, such as solar power generation, within the first half of the year, and is scheduled to recruit members in the energy trading sector, including demand management businesses, in the second half; it is expected to establish itself as the nation's first and largest energy business alliance in every sense of the word.
