Intel to Launch 5G Connected Mobile PC Next Year
Published2018.02.23 19:46Intel is researching and collaborating on new products for 5G across all areas, including network, client, and cloud, and announced that it is supporting 5G connectivity on Windows PCs through the Intel XMM 8000 series, a commercial 5G modem, in collaboration with Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Microsoft.
MWC attendees can view a 5G-connected concept PC (detachable 2-in-1) connected via an early 5G modem and powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core™ i5 processor for the first time. At MWC, Intel demonstrates the capabilities of 5G on PCs by showcasing live streaming video over a 5G network.
5G provides new opportunities for technological innovation across the entire computing and connectivity environment, from the cloud to networks and clients.
At MWC, Intel plans to showcase not only 5G but also the following achievements.
802.11ax: Intel is showcasing a thin PC supporting 802.11ax Wi-Fi at booth 3E31 in Hall 3. This product provides enhanced levels of management and network efficiency.
eSIM (Embedded SIM): Intel is demonstrating eSIM at the Intel booth located at Hall 3, Stand 3E31. All Intel modem solutions for enterprise and consumer PCs support eSIM. eSIM is planned to continue being provided as an essential feature for connected PCs.
Intel is working to invest in its wireless portfolio and bring 5G-connected mobile PCs to market with its partners. These products provide users with benefits such as high-definition video, premium gaming, and seamless connectivity when switching between Wi-Fi and cellular networks. Based on the speed and capacity of 5G, they will showcase new experiences and support online connectivity anytime, anywhere.

인텔이 2018 평창 동계올림픽에서, 1천218개의 드론을 띄어 개막식을 더욱 화려하게 하였다. 2016년부터 시작된 인텔의 슈팅스타 드론은 인텔자체의 센서기술인 리얼센스, 그리고 드론 동시 제어 기술을 바탕으로 2015년 독일에서 100대, 2017년 500대를 동시 비행시킨 이후 올해 평창 올림픽에서 1천218대의 드론을 띄어 기존 기네스 기록을 경신하였다.
