Samsung Electronics held an event in Guangzhou, China, to launch its strategic smartphones, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, and began targeting the Chinese premium smartphone market.

The presentation began with a keynote speech by Samsung Electronics IM Division President Koh Dong-jin, with approximately 2,500 attendees, including Chinese partners and media.

“Samsung is transforming into a truly local Chinese company,” said CEO Koh Dong-jin. “We will continue to invest in technological innovation and strive to provide new value to Chinese consumers and the local economy.”



Samsung Electronics is currently building a business system in China that integrates all of its organizations, including research and development, production, sales, and service, to quickly respond to the needs of Chinese consumers.

Samsung Electronics is actively collaborating with local Chinese companies such as Baidu, Alibaba, WeChat, Mobike, and JD.com, and applying innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to products tailored to Chinese consumers.

In particular, the launch of the Chinese version of the artificial intelligence service 'Bixby' as the third supported language following Korean and English is representative.

In addition, the 'Butler Service', which provides discounts and software optimization when replacing the display or battery after purchasing a smartphone for Chinese consumers, was introduced starting with the Galaxy S8. It is currently in operation and operates over 3,500 service stores across China to provide convenient service.

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be released in China in three colors: Midnight Black, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple.
