Infineon Technologies has released a Power Start module suitable for low-voltage soft starter applications.

These new products meet market demands for cost-effective and compact semiconductor solutions. The new Power Start module design focuses on reducing complexity and the number of components. This enables customers to shorten development time and streamline manufacturing processes when developing soft starter applications. Typical low-voltage soft start applications include belt conveyors found in pumps for transporting water and wastewater, as well as oil production pumps, large fans, and crushers.

The new design Power Start module supports various current ranges with a single, slim 55mm footprint. In comparison, other existing soft start solutions require multiple housings. Therefore, the Power Start module and bypass contactor can be easily integrated into a standard design space.

Power Start integrates a heatsink, allowing for easy installation without the need for thermal grease. By employing double-sided cooling, it can withstand overload currents of up to 2200A for 21 seconds, offering the industry's best price-to-power ratio.
