AI Cloud World Summit: A Gathering of AI Leaders to Accelerate Artificial Intelligence
The '2018 AI Cloud World Summit' was held, where scholars, experts, and companies such as Microsoft and Intel participated to discuss AI development trends, real-world applications, and opportunities for partner collaboration.

AI Cloud provides multidimensional recognition and front-end processing at edge nodes. It also integrates cloud and edge computing to process data in real-time, convergent ways in the edge domain for intelligent applications and new data generation. It has a three-tiered structure that converges on-demand data to a cloud center for big data analysis.



“To accelerate the implementation of AI, all industries must be open and cooperative in building an AI industry ecosystem,” said Yangzhong Hu, President of Hikvision, who hosted the summit. “We will take an open stance with our products, including the AI Cloud software platform, training system, AI service, data annotation and data sharing service, to enable many partners to participate in the process of building and sharing the AI ecosystem.”

New RTS prevents overheating and expands circuit space
SCHURTER launches the Reflowable Thermal Switch (RTS), a compact overheating protection device. Power semiconductors such as MOSFETs, ICs, IGBTs, TRIACs, and SCRs can overheat and cause thermal runaway due to their inherent self-reinforcing heat generation properties. The new RTS prevents overheating and shuts down the circuit at precisely preset temperatures.



SCHURTER's new RTS can be mounted using conventional reflow soldering techniques at temperatures up to 260°C. It is then mechanically activated by pressing the top into place and is set to operate at 210°C. Functions can be performed manually or automatically when multiple devices are in operation. Measuring 6.6 x 8.8 mm, it supports a maximum rated voltage of 60 VDC and a maximum operating current of 100 A. Additionally, the printed circuit board space has been expanded with additional features such as integrated short circuit and overcurrent protection.

At Datacloud Asia, the annual conference for data centers and cloud technologies, Munters Group received the 'Best Data Center Energy Solution' award in recognition of its significant contribution to energy-efficient services in the Asian data center and telecommunications sector.



Munters won the award for its Oasis(TM) indirect evaporative cooling system, specifically developed for data center operating environments. It features a unique, comprehensive computing controller for natural cooling solutions and is an energy-efficient, water-based cooling system. Oasis(TM) reduces the size of mechanical cooling equipment, thereby reducing costs. Once installed, the Munters cooling system maintains an internal data center temperature of 23-25°C year-round, lowering the project's PUE to 1.1. Munters' energy-efficient solutions enable data centers to save up to 75% in energy each year and reduce CO2 emissions equivalent to the emissions from 45,000 cars.
