Recognized as a verified display with 100% color volume for two consecutive years

All of Samsung Electronics' 2018 QLED models have been recognized by VDE (Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker), a global standards certification body in Germany, as displays that perfectly reproduce the colors of content, along with verification of '100% Color Volume' for two consecutive years.

It precisely measures how accurately the display reproduces the video intended by the original creator, taking into account even how the display's color reproduction changes depending on variations in video brightness.

The conventional two-dimensional color measurement method (Color Gamut) has measured the color of a display based on a single brightness level. However, there was a disadvantage in that it could not properly measure how the display represented colors differently from the original in bright or dark images.

'Color Volume 100%' means that the display can express the rich colors of the original image exactly as they are, without distortion.

The 2018 Samsung QLED TV uses Quantum Dots, which express colors most accurately among display materials, and adds the 'AI 4K Q Engine' to allow users to enjoy various videos with greater clarity and depth.

Even if the quality of the content coming into the TV is somewhat lacking, it optimizes it to match the picture quality of the QLED TV, and finds the appropriate contrast ratio and detail for each scene through a 5-step algorithm that analyzes the video and removes noise.

"Samsung QLED TVs provide the best picture quality in any environment with their superior color reproduction," said Eum Doo-chan, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business. "As the trend toward ultra-large and ultra-high definition TVs accelerates, 'color volume' will establish itself as an essential element of next-generation TVs, rather than an option."
