Demonstration of analog signal chain, reference design, and data converter compatibility with Xilinx FPGAs at Avnet's X-fest 2012
- Introduction to how to easily connect ADI's analog components to the new Xilinx 7 Series FPGA platform and Zynq™-7000 scalable processing platform using FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) boards, FMC interposers, and Pmod™ I/O development boards.
May 18, 2012 – Analog Devices ( www.analog.com , NASDAQ: ADI), a global leader in the data converter market, will demonstrate various applications at Avnet's (NYSE: AVT) X-fest 2012 that showcase analog signal chains, reference designs, and compatibility with Xilinx (Xilinx, Inc., NASDAQ: XLNX) Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). X-fest 2012 is a free, full-day educational seminar for embedded systems engineers that covers the integration of Xilinx FPGA design platforms with high-performance analog components. As a Platinum Sponsor of X-fest 2012, Analog Devices' educational materials and signal chain demonstrations will be presented in 35 cities across the U.S., Europe, and Asia from April to August 2012, including Seoul (July 13).
Emre Onder, Vice President of Marketing at Analog Devices, stated, “At X-fest, Analog Devices is showcasing innovative signal chain solutions, including system-level integration with Xilinx’s various development platforms and software,” adding, “Component integration in customers’ ecosystems is becoming increasingly complex.” "Analog Devices stated, 'The challenge is to enable customers to reduce design risk, accelerate prototyping, and complete product development more quickly by streamlining the design process through signal chain expertise and tested reference designs.'"
Analog Devices, recognized across the industry as a global leader in data conversion and signal processing technology, possesses a diverse portfolio of analog products capable of complementing Xilinx FPGAs, including A/D and D/A converters, sensors, audio and video products, and RF ICs. At X-fest, ADI engineers will introduce embedded designers to how to easily connect ADI's analog components to the new Xilinx 7 Series FPGA platform and the Zynq™-7000 scalable processing platform using FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) boards, FMC interposers, and Pmod™ I/O development boards. To facilitate smoother integration with the Xilinx ecosystem and tools, ADI provides Hardware Description Language (HDL) interface code, device drivers, and reference designs through http://wiki.analog.com/resources/alliances/xilinx .
At X-fest 2012, ADI plans to demonstrate the following various advanced systems supporting FPGA connectivity:
• Practical SDR (software-defined radio) design with transmitting and receiving functions
• High-speed A/D and D/A data converter FMC board
• Pmod™ with precision ADI converters (accelerometers, sensors, and other devices) enabling the implementation of user-friendly, low-cost boards through HDL code and device drivers
• ADV7511 HDMI Transmitter, ADV7611 HDMI Receiver, and ADAU1761 SigmaDSP® Audio Codec for High-Performance Audio/Video Applications Utilizing Xilinx's ZYNQ™-700 Scalable Processing Platform
