Universal Robots Sets a New Standard for Collaborative Automation Platforms

Universal Robots unveiled its new e-Series collaborative robots at Automatica 2018 in Munich, Germany. The new e-Series collaborative robots, announced this week, incorporate technologies that can accelerate the development of a variety of applications.

Built-in tool-centric force/torque sensors deliver high accuracy and sensitivity, enabling them to handle a wider range of applications economically. Like other Universal Robots products, the new e-Series collaborative robots offer unparalleled convenience. A newly designed control panel and programming and control software allow users to easily deploy and program any application.

Universal Robots' e-Series makes automation easier and safer for users. Seventeen safety features, including the ability to adjust downtime and distance according to user settings, have been certified by TÜV Nord and comply with EN ISO 13849-1 and EN ISO 10218-1 (Cat. 3 PLd), machine safety standards for human-robot collaboration.
