Precision verification of automotive radar systems using mmWave technology

Keysight Technologies, Inc. announced the new E8740A automotive radar signal analysis and generation solution, which enables radar-based advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to detect and mitigate potential collision risks.

Automotive radar applications are now an essential component of ADAS for both driver-assisted and autonomous vehicles. Engineers face new design challenges as higher frequency demands, particularly 79 GHz applications, increase.

E8740A Automotive Radar Signal Analysis and Generation Solution

The Keysight E8740A Automotive Radar Signal Analysis and Generation Solution provides a scalable test platform covering current and future frequencies and bandwidths with intuitive tools that enable engineers to quickly identify, isolate, or correct critical design errors.

This solution leverages Keysight's leadership in mmWave technology to provide continuous swept signal analysis from 3 Hz to 110 GHz, delivering precise measurements with higher sensitivity and dynamic range, along with better SNR with a DANL of -150 dBm up to 110 GHz. It also analyzes and generates automotive radar signals across the full frequency range for 24 GHz, 77 GHz, and 79 GHz radars, with scalable analysis bandwidth from 2.5 GHz to 5 GHz, depending on test requirements.
