Siemens PLM Software announced that its comprehensive simulation and testing event, 'Simcenter Connection Korea 2018,' was successfully held.

The event, held on July 12th and 13th at the COEX InterContinental Hotel in Samseong-dong, was attended by approximately 500 users and industry experts, including Siemens PLM Software partners and customers, who shared digitalization trends and success stories of the Simcneter portfolio, Siemens PLM Software's simulation and testing brand.
In his keynote address, Willy Bakkerss, Vice President of 3D Simulation at Siemens PLM Software, explained the challenges companies face and industry trends, and shared the value provided by Siemens' Simcenter portfolio.

He said that most products today have mechanical functions, electronics, software, and control devices.This requires a complex product development environment that integrates various aspects, including (controls). Engineering departments are faced with the challenge of developing smart products that integrate these diverse aspects, exploring new raw materials and manufacturing methods, and simultaneously completing design work within shorter design cycles.

These changes, he explained, require current engineering approaches for product performance verification to evolve into a more predictive role to support digitalization and systems-driven product development.
