LG Electronics Hosts '2018 LG Software Developer Day'

LG Electronics has brought together its software developers to strengthen its research and development in the field of artificial intelligence.
On the 19th, LG Electronics held the '2018 LG Software Engineers' Energizing Day (SEED)' event at LG Science Park in Magok-dong, Seoul. The 'LG Software Developer Day', now in its third year, was held by LG Electronics to strengthen developers' AI-related capabilities and share AI development know-how with group affiliates.
This event was attended by approximately 600 people, including the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) department, software developers from each business division, and developers from group affiliates working at LG Science Park.
Director of the SW Engineering Research Institute, Eom Wi-sang, gave a keynote speech titled “The Path to Collaboration,” and other presenters then shared trends in cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, robots, and blockchain, as well as quality verification methods utilizing artificial intelligence technology.
Additionally, developers had time to share their experiences through free-topic presentations on topics such as ▲working moms' careers ▲know-how to increase self-confidence ▲how to solve the complexity of life at the 'Ignite LG' session.
LG Electronics CTO Park Il-pyeong said at the event, “This event is a place to expand software capabilities such as artificial intelligence and robotics and to expand exchanges through various topics,” and “It will be an opportunity to further strengthen open innovation by increasing communication among developers.”
LG Electronics Vice Chairman Cho Sung-jin, CEO and President, ordered, “Let’s establish a system that can lead the era of convergence by creating synergy through securing future technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data across all existing businesses and strengthening external cooperation to lead the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and create a better life.”

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. The plan is to consistently manage access permissions in an environment where AI agents are increasing as work execution entities, while applying the principle of least privilege and automated policy enforcement. The two companies plan to jointly expand capabilities to manage the identities of various entities, including AI agents, within a single layer in the AWS environment. This collaboration is interpreted as a move to design security and governance together in corporate environments where AI adoption is expanding.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
