Demand is growing for high-performance embedded systems that process large amounts of data while operating at low power. Consequently, many system developers are seeking high-sensitivity, low-noise oscilloscopes that support wider bandwidth and faster sampling rates than conventional oscilloscopes.

Tektronix is responding to these market needs by launching the '6 Series MSO Mixed Signal Oscilloscope'.

On July 25, Tektronix Korea held a press conference in Gangnam, Seoul to commemorate the launch of a new product and introduced the 6 Series MSO, which is based on the platform of the 5 Series MSO mixed signal oscilloscope.

The 6 Series MSO offers a native bandwidth of 2 GHz, expandable to 8 GHz. It also supports a sampling rate of 25 GS/s on all channels (up to 4 analog channels and 32 digital channels).

The 6 Series MSO minimizes input noise through the new 'TEK061 front-end ASIC'. Additionally, with 12-bit resolution at 4 GHz and up to 16-bit resolution at 200 MHz, you can see signals you never saw before.

The advantages of the 5 Series MSO also apply to the 6 Series MSO.

The intuitive UI, capacitive pinch-to-zoom, and swipe-to-focus 15.6-inch touchscreen significantly speed up engineers' workflows. It also features a 12-bit ADC with flex channels and up to 16-bit vertical resolution.

At the press conference, Kim Kyung-rok, Director of Marketing at Tektronix Korea, demonstrated the new Visual Trigger feature in the 6 Series MSO. This feature allows engineers to identify and display only signals that overlap or do not overlap a specific area they specify. He also emphasized the convenience of the 6 Series MSO, demonstrating how to utilize the touchscreen and other features. He stated that the company plans to continue releasing new products to ensure engineers are not tied down by their measurement equipment.

“As embedded systems become more powerful, there is a growing demand for oscilloscopes that support wider bandwidth and lower noise than traditional instruments,” said Chris Witt, general manager, Time Domain Business Unit, Tektronix. “Engineers still want convenience along with performance, and the 6 Series MSO offers best-in-class performance and convenience, helping them be more productive.”

The 6 Series MSO is scheduled to ship worldwide in the fall of 2018 and is available for ordering now.
