Samsung Unveils the Note 9 at Unpacked 2018
The first Bluetooth-enabled S Pen in the series
Samsung Electronics held the 'Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2018' event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on the 9th (local time) with approximately 4,000 people in attendance, including global media and partners, and unveiled the 'Galaxy Note9'. The Note9, unveiled that day, supports Bluetooth for the S Pen, a feature unique to the Galaxy Note series, providing unprecedented convenience and usability. S Pen enhanced with Bluetooth
The Note 9's "Smart S Pen" features low-power Bluetooth and can fully charge in about 40 seconds simply by plugging it into the smartphone. A fully charged S Pen can last up to 30 minutes on standby or use its buttons up to 200 times. Simply press the S Pen's button to launch your favorite apps, remotely control the camera, videos, and gallery, or even advance slides during a presentation. Samsung Electronics plans to release the S Pen Software Developer Kit (SDK), which is expected to enable various developers to remotely control their applications and services through the S Pen.
The S Pen features a 0.7mm tip diameter and 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, providing a natural writing experience similar to writing with a pen on paper. Furthermore, both the Galaxy Note9 and the S Pen are IP68 water and dust resistant, allowing you to utilize its features even in wet environments.


More solid fundamentals
The Note 9 has a large 4,000mAh battery, 128GB/512GB of internal memory, a 10nm processor, and a download speed of up to 1.2Gbps, allowing you to use it all day without any restrictions, with performance that surpasses its predecessor.

The Note9 features an intelligent camera that automatically adjusts colors to the optimal setting for the scene, allowing you to capture high-quality photos anytime, anywhere. Furthermore, the Galaxy Note9 offers a rich entertainment experience with its 6.4-inch Infinity Display design, stereo speakers crafted with technology from audio brand AKG, and support for Dolby Atmos. Samsung Electronics has formed a strategic partnership with global music streaming service Spotify to ensure that users can enjoy music without interruption on various Samsung products, including the Note 9.

Simply connect the Note9 to a TV or monitor with an HDMI adapter, and you can enjoy apps and games you enjoy on your smartphone on a larger screen without any additional accessories. The Note9 also offers a feature that allows you to view different content on both the Note9 and the TV or monitor. For example, you can watch a video lecture on TV while taking notes on the Galaxy Note9. Furthermore, the Note9 supports SmartThings and the intelligent assistant Bixby, allowing you to connect and easily control various IoT products.

In addition, the Note 9 shares the experience of existing Galaxy smartphones with wired and wireless fast charging, IP68-rated water and dust resistance, various biometric authentication such as iris, fingerprint, and facial recognition, Samsung Knox, a mobile security solution developed independently by Samsung Electronics, mobile payment service, Samsung Pay, and Samsung Health.

The Note 9 will be released sequentially worldwide starting August 24th in four colors: Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, Lavender Purple, and Metallic Copper. The Ocean Blue color model is equipped with a yellow colored 'Smart S Pen'.
