- Guangzhou Automobile Makes Full-Scale Entry into Russian Market
GAC Motor will announce its official entry into the Russian market and showcase its vehicle lineup at the Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS), held from August 29 to September 9. The vehicles to be introduced include the SUV 'GS4', the luxury SUV 'GS8', the minivan 'GM8', the high-end sedan 'GA8', and the electric SUV 'GE3'. A brand promotion event is also scheduled for the morning of the 30th, inviting Russian dealers and media outlets. GAC Motor President Liu Jun stated, "Through our debut at MIAS, we aim to introduce the best products from the Chinese automotive industry to the Russian market."

- Genergy Signals Entry into Korea with KS Certification
Genergy, a PV cell and module manufacturer based in Shanxi Province, China, announced on August 27 that its high-efficiency polycrystalline modules and PERC monocrystalline solar modules have obtained KS certification. This opens up Genergy's entry into the Korean solar market. The certified Genergy products are the JNMP72-325/330, JNMM60-300/305, and JNMM72-355/360 modules. Recently, Genergy supplied PV modules to ground-mounted power plants in Okinawa, Fukushima, and Ibaraki, Japan. Dr. Yang Liyou, General Manager of Genergy, said, “We are focusing on developing the Korean PV market following the Japanese market,” adding, “We intend to widely promote Chinese PV manufacturing technology to the whole world.”

10 Innovative Technologies Announced at Chongqing SCE 2018
The 1st Smart China Expo was held in Chongqing, China, from August 23 to 25. The organizers introduced 10 of the 1,082 exhibited products under the theme "Amazing Technology: A Future Beyond Imagination." These included: Tsinghua University's laser-induced graphene "artificial neck"; Beijing Institute of Nano Energy and Nano Systems' highly flexible and scalable "electronic skin"; Changan Automobile's Level 4 autonomous "low-speed electric vehicle"; Harbin Institute of Technology and the University of California, San Diego's "medical nanorobots"; Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology's "thought control artificial neural network"; Zhejiang University's "degradable electronic components"; Tencent's "AI Medical Innovation System (AIMIS)"; iFLYTEK's iFLYTEK "Mobile Translator" 2.0; Cloudwork Technology's "Recognition of Personal Identification (REID) system"; and Alibaba Cloud's "ET Industrial Brain." Some of these products have already been released to the market, while the rest are still in the research and development (R&D) stage.

- Kia Motors targets China's entry-level market with the KX1
Kia Motors announced on August 23 that it has launched the KX1, an entry-level urban SUV exclusively for the Chinese market targeting people in their 20s and 30s, and has begun full-scale sales. On the 22nd (local time), a launch event for the 'KX1' (Chinese name: Yipao) was held at the Nanjing International Expo Convention Center in China, attended by approximately 500 people, including Kia Motors officials, Dongfeng Yueda Kia executives and employees, reporters from major Chinese media, and dealer representatives. The KX1 features a powertrain equipped with a Kappa 1.4 MPI engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission, offering smooth shifting and ride comfort as well as best-in-class fuel efficiency. Colorful unveiled two new graphics cards at the GeForce Gaming Celebration held at the Cologne Palladium in Germany on August 20. Powered by the NVIDIA Turing GPU architecture NVIDIA RTX platform, Colorful's 'iGame GeForce RTX 2080 Advanced OC' and 'iGame GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Advanced OC' feature vacuum copper plates for their cooling solution, making them resistant to heat. The RTX 2080 Advanced OC is equipped with 8GB of GDDR6X memory (11GB for the Ti version).
