Following LG Electronics' unveiling of the LG V40 ^ThinQ , a flagship smartphone equipped with a dual front camera and a triple rear camera, Samsung Electronics is releasing a mid- to high-end smartphone equipped with a quad rear camera.

Samsung Electronics held the 'A Galaxy Event' in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 11th (local time) and simultaneously unveiled the 'Galaxy A9', the world's first smartphone with four cameras on the back.

The Galaxy A9 is the world's first smartphone to feature a quad camera on the back, featuring a 24-megapixel primary lens, a telephoto lens, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a depth lens, allowing users to capture and share what they see and feel.

The 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom can capture detailed images of subjects even from a distance. The 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view similar to the human field of view can capture the scene exactly as the user sees it.

The 24-megapixel camera and 5-megapixel depth camera offer the "Live Focus" feature, allowing users to freely apply bokeh effects before and after shooting. Users can capture beautiful photos by making specific subjects stand out more clearly and blurring the background.

In particular, the Galaxy A9 is equipped with an artificial intelligence-based 'Intelligent Camera' that was first introduced through the latest flagship smartphone 'Galaxy Note 9', allowing users to take the best photos without having to change modes or apply filters depending on the shooting scene.

The intelligent camera automatically recognizes the scene, whether it's a person, landscape, or food, and captures it with optimal color. Furthermore, the Galaxy A9 automatically detects when a subject's eyes are closed or the camera is moving, resulting in a blurry image, and notifies the user with information like, "You blinked" or "The photo is shaky." It also alerts users to backlighting, allowing them to retake the photo without missing a precious moment.

The Galaxy A9 is equipped with Tetracell technology, which combines four pixels into one pixel in low-light environments to absorb more light, allowing it to take brighter and clearer pictures even in dark places.

The 24-megapixel front camera also allows for clear selfies. Especially in low-light environments, the display and LED light sources can be used to create brighter selfies. It also supports the 'Pro Lighting' function, which can provide lighting effects to the left, right, or front of a character.

The Galaxy A9 features a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio Infinity Display design, and a large 3800mAh battery that allows you to use it all day without worrying about charging.

The Galaxy A9 comes in two models: 6GB and 8GB. Both offer 128GB of built-in memory and support for up to 512GB of expandable storage via a MicroSD card.

The Galaxy A9 uses 3D glass on the back to provide a comfortable grip.

The colors are Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink. The Lemonade Blue and Bubblegum Pink models feature a gradient effect that gradually changes color.

The Galaxy A9 will be released sequentially worldwide starting in November.

Meanwhile, the event also showcased the Galaxy A7, the first Galaxy smartphone to feature a triple camera, which was announced in September. The Galaxy A7 is equipped with a 24-megapixel main camera, an ultra-wide-angle camera, and a depth camera on the back of the smartphone, and is scheduled to be released in Korea in October.
