Samsung Electronics Installs NBA's First 360-Degree LED Screen
A total of 21 units supplied, with an installed floor area three times the size of a basketball court.
Samsung Electronics installed a massive screen utilizing smart LED signage at State Farm Arena, the home arena of the NBA team Atlanta Hawks.

State Farm Arena, located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, is an indoor arena built in 1999 with a capacity of approximately 21,000 people, and recently completed the second-largest renovation in NBA history.

Through this remodeling, Samsung Electronics installed a total of 21 LED signages at State Farm Arena, and the combined area is approximately 1,120 square meters, which is three times the size of a basketball court.

In particular, the installation of a 360-degree LED screen in the center of the arena, the first of its kind in an NBA arena, attracted attention. This screen is suspended from the ceiling and is a square column with a total circumference of 52m and a height of 8.5m, with all four sides connected by curved surfaces.

State Farm Arena opened on October 20, and Samsung's LED signage was unveiled to a large audience during the first home game against the Dallas Mavericks on the 25th.

Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin said, "Through Samsung Electronics' massive high-definition screens, all fans visiting State Farm Arena will be able to watch the game vividly from anywhere in the stadium, as if they were right next to the players."

In addition, LED signage with fine pitch technology of 2.5mm pixel spacing was installed in the newly renovated sports bar, measuring 9.6 meters in length and 2.7 meters in height.

"Based on our smart LED signage technology, we are now able to provide NBA basketball fans with the best possible viewing environment," said Kim Seok-ki, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business. "Going forward, we will continue to showcase top-tier services in various fields, including not only sports stadiums but also outdoor advertising and various events."

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics installed the world's largest UHD LED display at Incheon SK Happy Dream Stadium in 2016, and installed the largest LED signage in Korea on the exterior wall of SM Town at COEX this March.
