NI Launches New LabVIEW NXG, Covering Everything from Design to Test

National Instruments (NI) unveiled the new LabVIEW NXG on the 29th.

LabVIEW NXG simplifies the series of processes that are most time-consuming in automated test and measurement applications, such as system setup, configuration, test and measurement code development, and web-based application development. This enables engineers to more easily meet demanding time-to-market requirements.
The LabVIEW NXG FPGA module supports USRP (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) and Kintex-7 FlexRIO targets and provides a new workflow for faster FPGA development and debugging.
The LabVIEW NXG Web module includes events and properties for dynamic web applications, supports the integration of JavaScript libraries into WebVI, and enables easy and secure access to SystemLink Cloud software, NI's cloud service for WebVI hosting.
The development environment was also improved. LabVIEW NXG supports registered .NET assemblies and new project dependency tools. In addition, the MATLAB interface, which includes scripts written in MATLAB—an integration and software engineering tool for rapidly customizing applications, including interface capabilities with The MathWorks, Inc.—enables engineers to directly call MATLAB code in the LabVIEW NXG environment to reuse existing IP as is.
Dave Wilson, NI’s Vice President of Platform Software, stated, “Since the initial launch of LabVIEW NXG in 2017, we have been working to make programming and measurement automation services more accessible to all engineers and scientists,” adding, “Over the past year and a half, we have added more than 40 new features to LabVIEW NXG, launching efficient development software that enables engineers to organize, automate, and visualize test results in one place.”
Meanwhile, NI plans to release a succession of updated versions, including this latest next-generation version of LabVIEW, with the goal of expanding engineering capabilities that encompass design to testing. Both first-time LabVIEW customers and annual service contract customers can access LabVIEW NXG and LabVIEW 2018.

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
